Tough Love

I've been trying really hard to teach Dexter the ropes, but he decided to become a little scaredy doggie and now Momma says we have to use tough love on him which means we have to love him when he is brave and ignore him when he is acting like a chicken. The whole thing has me puzzled because he wasn't so freaky on his first day here.

To his credit, the little guy has already learned to go up and down the stairs to the observation deck.

Problem is that once he gets out in the yard he gets all nervous and runs back up on the deck. That wouldn't be bad, but twice yesterday he lost his mind or something and instead of using the stairs he dived off the deck (not a good idea for such a little guy).

I tried blocking off the stairs so that he couldn't get back up.

Then I said, OK, little dude, let's play!

See? Lots of nice stickies to bite. Its fun!
But he just tried to hide under Momma.

And then made a mad dash for the Observation Deck.Come back, little dude!Did you see the pile of bricks? Master spent most of the day yesterday moving bricks from one part of the yard to another. I wonder where he will move them to today? Must be some new fangled workout routine.Oh, by the way, Momma is obsessed with Dexter's, ahem, bodily functions. Every time he pees its some sort of celebration and when he poops, man, its like gold nuggets are coming out his little butt. She even bottled some of it to show off to the doggie doctor. Oh man!

So, I'll keep coaching Dexter and hopefully he'll come around because the Mango estate is a really cool place to hang out and I'm, well, who wouldn't want to hang out with my large and handsome self?

Mango Man! Oh yeah!

Maybe you could collect up a store of those gold nuggets and then maybe you could use them to buy a bus ticket and come up here to visit me.

You keep showing Dexter the ropes around there and in no time, he'll be looking up to you (ahem, both figuratively and literally!).....

You are really showing him the ropes aren't you! That's what all good brothers do. I just wish he wouldn't jump off the deck!

Geez! Dexter is climbing stairs already! Mitch was 6 months old before mom taught him to stop being a baby! Dexter is one smart pup!

Love ya lots,
