A Visit from Cousin Jack

Today Grandma and Grandpa stopped by for a cookout and they brought my cousin Jack! All the way from South Dakota (which is in the wild country west of 495). I only get to see him about once a year and he keeps getting bigger (just like me). [Momma - We used my nephew's visit as motivation to do the monthly slime scrub which involves washing down all the cabinets, walls, and appliances. Owning a mastiff is not for the compulsively clean].

Jack and I spent a lot of time leaning on each other, just getting re-acquainted. He kind of reminds me of my brother, Jake, who is also tall and skinny and cool to hang out with.

Of course Jack had to say hello to stupid pee-wee too.

Then it was time to eat. Momma made me put this picture in because she thought the table looked pretty with the flowers from our front garden. She thinks a see through table is a good idea if you have doggies so that you can see who is lurking under the table. Ignore air compressor in background. We are still using the under construction form of interior decorating.

After lunch, we all went out to inspect the garden and fruit trees. The wally-melon is coming along nicely (I can't wait). Jack and Master played keep away with the squirt whilst Grandpa looked on (you can see that my pup-tent is up on the Observation Deck to provide shade so I don't get heat stoked).
The little guy just went back and forth, back and forth, and never caught the darn thing. I don't play games that involve actual running. I would much rather let Grandma give me love. The sun was pretty hot, so it wasn't long before I needed a drink, but the pool water is full of labrafud! The labradude is a peculiar little fellow. He kept trying to dive into the pool.I think he bonked his head on the bottom. He looks a little dazed. As the afternoon wore on, I started to feel a bit fatigued from all the socializing. My head felt kind of heavy...Its nice when guests come, but also nice when they leave. It is hard work to be always so magnificently handsome and gracious.Mango Man! Oh yeah!

Mango! We know where your cousin Jack is from. My mom grew up just north of South Dakota. Well, actually, just north of North Dakota, but they went to both Dakotas all the time when she was a kid.

Looks like you had a fun visit, and looks like you are indeed still magnificently handsome.

Oh Mango! What a fun visit with Grannie & Gramps you had...wow..the slime scrub...good thing that doesn't happen too often...Mango Suds is priceless...no use in just washing it all away...

Glad you have a tent above the observation deck...helps keep those pesky birds from pooing on your deck as well..

Love & Licks,
Randi

Mango looks like you and Dexter had a very nice time with your company. I agree letting your grandma pet you was way more enjoyment then playing games. Did you help mommy with cleaning the Mango slime too? I think I would have put pee wee in charge of scubbing and you supervisor. Hee hee your lovie dovie girl- Baylee

Wow, looks like you had a great visit with your relatives. I'm visiting with a human aunt I just met for the first time, too. I looooove her because she smells like my mom but plays with me.

Pee Wee looks silly trying to dive in the pool. Tell him to try it with a real big one!

Mango man, that looks like a fun day for you and no doubt very exhausting sliming everything. That Pee-wee is a doofus, makes us laugh.

Mango you are such a good host! Give pee-wee time and he too will be a good host. Well....maybe! I am all for the hugs, rubs and kisses too. None of that runnin' bidness for me!

Hey Mango,
Are you a passion fruit? You sure have a nice yard and house. We think your head probably weighs more than all of our Abby. We don't think any of us will ever be as heavy as you. Shiloh might be taller but she's probably only gonna get near 200 lbs, not over it. Max is shorter than Shiloh; about your size but only about 150 lbs. You need to get Nanook's diet from his moma. Our dad sez he wonders what color the sky is in Nanook's vet's world. Nice blogging at ya. Take a ride out to P-Town for us. being handsome is super exhausting, I am surprised you lasted as long as you did! Jack looks very cool! I hope my Mom doesn't see that glass table, I like to hide under and wait for falling food!

Moco said...

You did a great job being the host even if you got tired.

What a great time you had there! LS said the glass table is an excellent idea. She's thinking of getting one. You certainly were a handsome and gracious host!

Biggie-Z said...

P.S. Glass tables are not good for playing Pawsie though.

But if anyone can be so handsome and so gracious and such a good host all at the same time it is YOU big fella!

Oh Mango, I sympathise with the heavy head syndrome! The big brain just weighs you down. I must tell Mumma about the limey slimey, she's thinking of getting a cane corso and i think she'll do that dribble stuff. BTW your people table looks great, you can see right through it from underneath.
Love 'n' slobber

I am sure you get lots of pampering from cousin Jack. You are a dog any young boy would like cos you make them look macho to have a macho Mango man next to them.

Stanley said...

Hey, Mango!

Glad your cousin Jack got to see you, man! He is obviously a discriminating and tactful cousin. Hope he spent most of his time leaning with you after the cursory playtime with the Labradude.

It warms my heart just to see your massive head again. Sorry I've been M.I.A., but my girl is lazy/busy.

If you come see me you'll notice that I've lost my poodle-esque pantaloons. You shamed my girl into finishing the grooming job she started on me.

Thanks for the help man!

Gooberl ove & smooches,
Stanley

Mangoboy! Don't you think Pesty Pee Wee looks so cute in the pool? Come on, admit it... he's cute. But you're HUGELY handsome, as always.

He he he, Mango you are so funny! I love that you had to rest your head. I do the same thing, although I can't get it as high as yours. Having visitors is so much fun. New people to pet you and tell you how wonderful you are. Yeah, it's great! I think next time you want a drink from the pool, you should just drag pee-wee out. Then it's all yours!

Your pal,
Kirby
