I go Hiking

Dexter here.
Momma has had the sickies for a few days so the Relentlessly Huge and I have been bloggy deprived. Fortunately, I already had the exciting video from my Sunday hike in the can, so at least I can post that.

Before you watch, though, I want to clear up a few things.

Mean momma made me keep my leash on because there was nobody else around and she was afraid I would run ahead of her. That concern was probably well founded since I was never lost and I did tug pretty hard to get her to hurry along so that I could get back to the pond.

It was pouring rain the whole time and after a while giant mosquitoes started biting momma and some of the trails were totally washed out. Plus, the trails were, for the most part unmarked, so let me tell you, there were some HBO words.

Finally, momma gave in and just followed me and I led her to safety. Phew!

Hopefully RH and I will be able to catch up with everything and everybody soon.

Dexter done!

WOW DEX! PEE WEE! Sounds like you are a hero!! Hope Mom gets to feeling better. Maybe hiking around in cold rain, getting lost didn't help?

Good thing your mom had you with her to lead her to safety, Dexter!

The Girl has been sicky too, so we're all behind and stuff. Peoples just don't get it, do they?

I'm really happy that you didn't melt in the EVIL rain... did your mom have to bribe you to get you to go out in it???

You are a great tracking dog Dexter! You saved your mama after all that fun of splashing around in the pond. Too bad about the nasty mosquitoes.

What a great hike & swim Dexter. Even with the rain, that was a totally pawsome day! Who cares if you both got lost, you were together and that's what matters!!

You are so brave Dexter! Way to get momma to safety!

Dexter, your Mama was lost but you weren't. What a smart dude. My Mama always says "home" when we get back from a walk so if we're ever lost, she'll say "home" and then - hopefully - I'll lead the way back to our house. I sure hope your Mama is feeling better. Give her lots of smoochies and tell Mango to also -- that's the best medicine.

Humans are so inferior when it comes to all things nature-like. Great job on leading her to safety. Mom is scared of the woods, she would have peed her pants out there!

Mom laughed when your Mom talked about getting lost. She gets lost almost EVERY time we go to the park! Nice work showing her the way home Dex.

When we go to the lake mom just lets go of the leash since the lady always tells her when we get to the park that dogs have to be on leashes. Well we are!!

Your videos make me laugh! I help my mom out when she gets lost, too. I bet that was hard to swim with her on the other end of the leash. Since you saved the day did you get extra special treats when you got home...or on the way home?
