Barn Update and Lab Attack

SPECIAL NOTE TO MANGO MINSTER WINNERS! We finally mailed out your prizes. We only got prizes for first place and reader's choice winners because Mean Momma said prizes for 2nd and 3rd place winners would have to come out of my kibbles allowance. Hey, a guy has to eat!

It has come to my attention that some of my pals out west of 495 were thinking that the fire chief in the fire movie was speaking in some strange and foreign language. Now I will mention that Momma found the firefighter and police peoples Boston accents quite comforting, but for the rest of you, here is an ACTUAL TRANSCRIPT of what the nice fire chief said.

"When I heard there was a fiyuh at Mango's Estate, I had four fiyuh trucks and sixteen fiyuhfightahs and a choppah there in five minutes. Our first priahity was to make sure Mango and Pee-Wee were OK. Once we knew the boys were good, we set to containing the fiyuh in the bahn. It was wicked hot. We got a neighbuh to comfort Mango Mastah and sent anothah neighbuh to get some Dunkin' Donuts. We drew stawers to see who would be stuck with, I mean talk, to the Dotty Old Hen. Just anothah day in the Framingham fiyuh dapahtment."

Here is a picture of our barn during happier times. And here it is now...

The insurance peoples boarded it up and put this sign on it. We have to wait for them to shift through the debris before we can rebuild.

In the meantime, Momma and Master are starting to make a list of all the stuff that was inside. Here is what is left of Master's 90 drawer cabinet (which got tossed out the window) that contained 1000's of fasteners, drawer pulls, hinges, and other stuffs. It will be a long list.

Master was given permission to remove his flooglehorn which seemed to have survived OK.

I, Mango, have started cleaning up the debris around the perimeter.

But its hard work and there is only one Mango.

Pee-Wee is not nearly as industrious as I. I instructed him to get to work and not be such a baby.

This was his response.

Annoying little critter.

He has developed an irritating habit of aerial assaults on my Mango-ness.

When faced with such total labradorkiness, I am forced to retire to my special place...

Finally, I MUST share this with you. That Lacie Beast recently returned from a trip abroad with Petey. I have to hand it to Petey, he finally found a use for that screeching little monster. I can just hear the strains of Amazing Grace issuing from her Lakie jaws.

Perhaps Master can do some duets with her on his flooglehorn.

Mango Man! Oh yeah!

P.S. Momma said I can spend time catching up with my pals this weekend. Well, I certainly hope so.

How do you get there?

OMD Mango I had to LMAO at your transcript! It was wicked hilarious! I did not want to say anything for fear of insulting those who speak the local master chew sits dialect but try as I might I could not decipher what he was saying... so thank you!
Also... is pee wee shrinking? He looks even pee wee-er than usual and perhaps that explains the aerial assaults. Good job on the clean up and still so sad to see your adorable barn in such a state!

omdog that poor giant chest full of tool things I have no idea what they are?! seriously tho, all those tools and bits, we are so sorry they are lost. At least that swell looking horn survived. I cannot believe the labradork flies AT you. You need to get an F-14 over there to shoot him down or something.

Thanks Mango for the translation of what the fire fighter was saying! Mom's midwestern ears didn't understand a word of what was coming out of his mouth, but she enjoys watching a handsome man in uniform! Glad to see you are being such a big help by picking up around the estate and breaking up the monotony by humoring PeeWee. Mom says enjoy the fun of him being a young labradork because rest assured he will become quite the refined and mature chap as he grows older. He's learning from the best- you dear Mango!

Mango, suddently I noticed that your face having dark complexion, is it my double vision or what, the last picture of yours reminded me of your front burned barn, hehe!

Mate, Lacie isn't going to be happy when she sees that photo....

Hope the insurance all goes smoothly. Lucky the flooglehorn survived. That is amazing.

How is PeeWee's form. What an attack. I thought Lucy & Tess were bad.

Have a great weekend.

Hi Mango
You sure are a dog to have around in a crisis. What a great job you are doing clearing up and thank goodness that horn survived.
We didn't know that Petey had been on a trip abroad with Lacie - we will have to go read about that. He is now in Bermuda with Rosie and innocent little beagle much younger than him. We have sent Bailey to chaperone as she is older and wise-ish.
Thanks for the tip off!
love and kisses
Martha xx
Perfect peace with Bailey in Bermuda!

Goodness Mango, I'm so behind with catching up on blogs that I only just heard of your barn troubles! How terrible, I'm so glad you are all safe and well. That looks like an awfully big clean up job, If I was closer then I would come and help!
PeeWee's ariel assaults on you are rather disturbing! Maybe I should rethink the whole "Give me a sibling" thing after all!!

Incidently your Firefox wasn't incompetent, it was my secretary, I have chocolate fireguards that are more useful, she is a disgrace to bloggerland, I stepped in and fixed the photos myself though.. only way to get anything done around here!! You may view the Khyra Floooofiness now :)

MONA AND THE MOMMY! said...

Hi Mango.

Before I forget, if you decide to have a cleanup party like Mitch & Maggie suggested count me & the Mommy in.....Mommy could make meatballs for all us doggies.
You are such a good helper hauling all that wood around but you must get Pee Wee to help you or tell him you will have to put him in his place. The little rascal is just like my brother Siskle. He always wanted to play but my big brother Toby would pin him to the ground. Which then meant that my brothers Peanut and Jacks had to join in and I would have to save Siskle everytime or we'd never get anywhere. I miss my brothers sooo much.

The Mommy's sister used to leave where you do & the Mommy visited there back in the 70's when she was still a young thing and she never did understand anything anybody ever said but being from Texas nobody could understand anything she said either...heehee.

The Mommy said one thing she noticed when we was watching the fire was that the American flag was still flying....thats a good sign she says. We are just happy you and Pee Wee was ok and not near the fire. It looks like it would have been a great place to play in or help your Daddy in.

Love....Mona

PS....is it Ok if I call PeeWee Rascal when I tell my friends about you guys?

I am sorry to hear about the fire. Your dad (and mom) must be really sad. You are being such a good boy to try to entertain your mom by letting her use you as shoe rack.

I guess you just got to get more control over Pee Wee so that he can help around with the hard work. Its tough to manage when there is only 1 Mango man doing all the task.

You have my mom crackin up. Oh.. first the translation. My mom is not from here so it took her a minute to understand the difference b/n Charter (cable) and Chowdah.

What is that pee wee doing! You sure know how to handle the laboradorkiness attack. And mom let's him get away with that? What's next a pity party?

Well.. hopefully insurance will cover your loss. As far as a duet w/Petey.. let me know when it is.. so I can put the ear plugs in. AMMMAAAAszzzinnngg Grace...

Uh oh, Mango, you did it again - my mom and dad are rolling on the floor laughing. It's kind of confusing, because my grandpa's side of the family are all from Boston so I thought I understood that fireman perfectly. But somehow I missed "Mango's Estate", "Dunkin' Donuts", and a few other interesting references.

See ya!

I'm not too far West of 495...I kind of got most of what he said...But a little of it was still unclear...

I'd love to hear the duet with the LaciePipes & Flooglehorn...Let us know when you set that up...

Floogelhorn and Bagpipe Lacie?? Does master know about this? Could be he's duped into dating Lacie before you can bark for that nice Fire marshall to rescue him. But at least he will understand what your barkin' bout.

As for labradoorkness, yeeees I confess I do see a bit of myself in Pee Weee. The aerial assualts look familiar though of course lack the essential foxie wiring.... but yep, he's a trier. Go Pee Wee pal!!

We are so glad that you were not harmed in that fire. The Master must have been going to change all the drawer pulls in the state. We feel for him to have to list them all. He will have to take a nap afterwards.
What is up with that crazy lab? He doesn't have any sense to take you on.
