Barn Raising

I was finally able to convince Master to make the barn walls vertical. Unfortunately, they were too heavy for him to lift and not being a beast of burden, I needed to figure out a way to get him some help.

I decided to put out some tool time bait and sure enough almost before I got my trap laid out, the hearty males began arriving.

That first guy was soon followed by two more staggering off the street like blood crazed zombies seeking the comfort of the Dunkin Donuts.

Some arrived by car, lured from their normal Saturday morning destinations to my tool guy trap.

Even my brother Jake emerged from his warm bed the next town over.

As more arrived, they formed a pack around Master. Once appropriately caffeinated, they were prepared for their mission.

Once I was sure that we had enough guys, I gave the instructions to begin.

Looks like a drug bust "OK, you yahoos, assume the position."

I told Pee-Wee to go get my hammer so I could help.
OK, Mango is ready!

What? It's done already? Oh well...

I think that now Master has observed how much better the walls look standing up he will build the next two the proper way. That remains to be seen.

Mango Man! Oh yeah!

Can you hear us cheering here, Mango? Whooooooooohoooooooo
We sure do love barn raisings! Yours looks a wee bit different though - you lift walls and all we lift is big timbers! We think your way is better! It gets the job done more quickly!
Mom wants to know if there's a French cruller in that Dunkin Donuts box?!

Love ya lots,

Wow, thats very exciting Mango!! Did they share any of those mouth-watering donuts with you? Next to sugar cookies, they are my very very favorite (though I only get them when I have veeeerrrry sneaky)! It is a good thing they have you there to oversee the construction!

Ummmn, I am just curious. To get men to come and help you do things, all you have to do is put out a box of Dunkin' Donuts and coffee? I must remember that for the future if we have some hard work to do here.
Everything is looking good there!

Kisses,
Stella

Wooo, did they share their Donuts with you? How do Donuts taste? The Chief doesn't let us have sweets in our neck of the woods. Says it'll make us hyper, not that we're hyper enough already!

Honestly, where do humans get all those strange ideas?

Very clever how you organized and motivated that man-pack. Interesting how they are standing around in the last photo, kind of waiting direction. You should have barked out some useful orders, like "go get dog treats" or "beef marrow bones needed ASAP" ...

Honestly, what would these walking apes do without us to guide them? Nice job Mango!

Are we going to see this on a episode of COPS? All those donuts are making us wonder.
It is a good thing that you are so clever. Otherwise how would Master ever gets those walls up the correct way.

Hi, Mango...

I'm sure this would never get done if you weren't there to supervise...

It's looking good...

I can't wait to see how they get the roof on there...

It will probably take a few more donuts & another box of Joe to get enough of them to lift it up there...I'm sure you will think of something...

I've heard of hair raising adventures, but barn raising's a new thing. It's pretty cool that your dad can build a barn and has all those 'studly' guys to help!

Impressive stuff. We thought we were going to see the whole building assembled and ready.
You know like that mad guy who drives around in a bus with a team of people and puts up houses and furnishes them in a day. Extreme Makeover!!!

Great job Mango
You organised that very well, just goes to show what a few good strong men and some dunkin donuts can achieve with the right leader!
Perhaps your master will have now learned the right way to build a barn but you had better hand about and make sure.
Good work with the hammer!

Nice to have a bunch of friends to help - but did you have to let our Mom see those Dunkin Donuts- she was salivating all over the laptop!!!

Mango - you need to get them to take down that barrier between you and the new construction - how ever can they get the job done right without the help of RH??
