Dexter Day

Note from Momma:
I am sad to report that after a long and difficult struggle, Sunny and Scooter's gram has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Please be sure to stop by their bloggy and leave your kind words. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.

Dexter here!
I have been forced to go to Obedience school which I hate because it is so BORING. This week we spent the entire class working on attention. Apparently I need more attention to advance in agility so I am going to have to put up with it.

We didn't have agility class this week, so I got to go back to swim club! I LOVE swim club. I was so excited that I could hardly wait for the seal lady to put my life vest on for me.

Throw the bloody thing already!

My diving skills are still a bit lacking.

As you can see, the seal lady didn't even need to go in the pool with me since I knew exactly what to do.

Here is my super action packed swim club movie!

Check out my form! I'm really improving my stroke! The seal lady turned the artificial current on full blast, but that was no match for my powerful leggies.

We almost had a mishap when I breached the gates and tried to get back in the pool after my blow dry, but I guess those recalls have been working, because I came back when Momma called me.

I took a good nap in the Mastiff Mobile on the way home and Momma was so pleased that I was full of energy again by the time we reached the estate (NOT).

Swim club is closing for the summer and I will need to find alternate venues to work on my water retrieving. Wish me luck!

Dexter done!

P.S. Oh yeah, did you see the dorky face the Relentlessly Huge was making on his way home from the salon? I swear that guy's head is so empty it's like a vacuum. Definitely a few slices short of a loaf.

Hi there Dexter!

Why don't you swim over here, and come river swimming with me. I go down to the river in the park most Sundays for a dip. The current runs quite fast, but I am a strong swimmer. I can teach you some moves as well.

Loved your video. Lotsaluv, Marvin xxxx

You are a powerful swimmer Dexter. When swim club closes I think you should try the English Channel. Sorry to hear that your obedience class is boring. Attention is not the most fun thing but it will help you in everything else that you want to do. If you want boring, try long stays!

Ciao caro Dexter!

You, mio amico, are one eccellente nuotatore! And that orange jacket sets off your coloring beautifully, too. But (giggle!)... dove รจ il vostro costume da bagno??

Tanti baci!

I live in Minniesnowda, the land of 10,000 lakes, so once they thaw we don't need any fake ponds to swim in. We just go to the nearest lake and swim all we want to. Don't need no lady to help us, either.
You should find a lake somewhere by you!

Every time I see a candle, my heart skipped a few beats! Sad news seem to be posted more often this month, I went to Sunny to share their sorrow.
Why swim club is closing in the summer, I thought it was the best time to de-heat?

Wow, that looks fun! I only get to fulfill by true labrador-ness in a tiny little kiddy pool...I might have to ask Mom to look for a swim club here!

Dear Dexter.
You are such an athlete! What prowess you have against the current! I got stuck in a raging river current about a week ago. I didn't panic at all! I just kept swimming and staying in the same place for about five minutes! (Scared the pants off my peeps!)
You go Dexter!

Wow, Dexter!

That video is terrific! You are an excellent swimmer! Is that a life jacket you are wearing? I'm just wondering. Why????

Is does seem kind of strange that they are closing the pool for the summer. And, when's summer??

That obedience school sounds more like a university to me. We don't have anything like that here. When my Great Uncle Koobus II went to school they held classes on the high school football field. Bummer. I, myself, am uneducated.

Great job!!

Yes, obedience can be relentless tedious and seem to take the joy out of everything. For cripe's sake, I even have to demonstrate my sit/stay when I see my dinner appear across the kitchen.

But, in the end, it's all worth it. Ms. Alpha is easing up since I'm letting her know that I will pay attention to her and she's the most important thing in my life.

Oh boy! I can't wait to go swimming again and your awesome video reminded me of better days to come!

Your pal,

PS: Go easy on Relentlessly Huge. He'll get you out of a jam when you need him!

Wow Dexter, you are a pro swimmer....I am soooo impressed! Maybe your Momma can take you to a lake for some swim time this summer! :)

Hello Dexter,

We used to have a pool in the backyard but since we couldn't get Trixie and Joe out of it for the longest time (they just kept on SWIMMINGGGGGGGG)its since been covered.

I on the other hand, don't think I can swim. I watch snoopy tried. She just sank like a brick.

The Poor Chief leaped in to join snoopy (and didn't even have time to put on her seal suit) ... the things we put her up to!

Dexter Dexter! You won't believe it! Mom, Dad and I were patrolling the parimeter of our lake and I just happened to decide to go in! Can you believe it?! No coaxing or anything! I think the seal lady's teachings might have paid off! You can come over this summer and swim in my lake, that is if the Mango Man will let you come past 495... BOL (But I promise, I'm only a mile from 495!)
