Miscellaneous Mango Musings

Alert reader, Moose, spotted me recently launching a little money making endeavor. I feel it is important to have some kibbles money set aside given that the DOH frequently lets my kibbles totally run out and I could starve. You can check it out here.

Of course Moose has it all wrong! The Mango is not meeting hot gals here, no way, absolutely not, especially not the BEAST!

Don't worry, MJ, you are my main gal, I mean, come on, no competition, look at your lovliness all lost in meditation. Sigh.

Of course seeing my large and handsome self did attract some inquiries.

In other news, I, Mango now know why progress on the barn is slow. As this revealing photo shows, whilst the Master is hard at work painting the front of the barn, Rick and Jarrod are busy playing elevator with the scaffolding on the side. How childish.

Then I went around back to instruct Rick to get to work already and found him messing about with this new toy that Master brought home.

I even captured him digging up rocks on video. I mean, come on already, how is digging up rocks going to get the barn built? Hard to get good help I suppose.

I was shocked to discover that witless Master had once again been duped into purchasing jumping flowers for the deck. Flowers should sit in their spot, right? But these jump right out of the pot. I was trying to put them back in when Momma came out and she scolded me. Huh?

No sooner did she go back in the house, when they jumped right back out! See that feisty little flower on the deck? Look at Pee-Wee! I think they scared him! It also maybe tried to attack him because he had dirt on his snooter.

Speaking of Pee-Wee, I kind of feel sorry for the little dude because momma says he is almost fully grown and he is still really short and only weighs 75 pounds. That must explain why he is always climbing on top of things.

He has some sort of shorty dog complex.

So whilst I was getting more morning ear massage I got to thinking...

And had a brilliant idea!

We must water the labradude. Yes, that will make him grow for sure. I grabbed the hose and set to it.

I asked Momma to take over with the hose because he was wiggling so much.

But look! I think his leggies are longer already!

Watering the lab does have its down side. It kind of makes him go a little cracker dog, resulting in reckless zoomies.

And drive by's!

This is the family friendly version...

Watch out, ladies, here comes the R-rated version. Seeing all may Mango-ness seems to have made the midget feel a bit, um, small.

That's OK, tiny lab, if we water you every day you will grow up big and strong like the Mango.

Time for deep thoughts...

Mango Man! Oh yeah!

I don't know where to begin being a whacky dog myself. Water makes me crack too not grow. The only thing growing is those mangos on mango. Hmmm I think the only logical thing to do is give peewee the hump monkey to make him feel better.

Mango, you just crack us up - but you do have some very smart thoughts there. Especially the part about watering the labradude. Those legs definitely look longer. And those two guys playing elevator fun could at least have asked you to join in on the fun. We hate to even tell you this but when TD was younger and we had problems with jumping flowers, she actually put poop on the top of the soil to keep him out. It did work but sure didn't smell too good on the deck:-)

Woos, the OP Pack

Joe Stains said...

I dont think your Masters barn will ever get done with that kind of help!! Maybe you should take over?? I can't believe you never thought about watering Dexter before that! I hope it works!!

dewdana said...

Pee Wee is a crazy cracker dog for sure! As for the jumping flowers... that is odd. I must say I assumed they had put out some salad for you boys!
Glad MJ was not too upset by your philandering ;-)

Gee...why didn't you think of that sooner??!!(watering the peeWee) His legs without a DOUBT look longer...Love A+A

Lorenza said...

Hi, Mango!
A digging machine?? I am sure you can do it better!
I am not so sure Dexter will grow too much if you water him but sure he has lots of fun!
Kisses and hugs

Stella said...

What if PeeWee gets BIGGER
than you with all this watering? I think maybe a short watering once a week would be all he would need, what do you think, Mango?

Randi said...

Awww Mango...so nice of you to water the labradude...i think he will grow big & tall..but not as tall as the Mangoman..

Did PeeWee get into drugs or something? He looks completely posessed...& like he is slam dancing or something..those kids these days & that music they listen to!

Also, you can use the water in other necessary times, like they do in riots when people are being rowdy...hope the Momma doesn't get cited for inhumane treatment of her favorite furry sons..

You are doing way too much thinking for us.

Huskee and Hershey said...

Hmm Mango.. those 'Jumping Flowers' are over at my house too!! Mom always accuses us of having a part to play... **insert innocent look**...

Oh so watering Dexter did make his legs longer? I think I need to soak myself in a tub... the size differential between Hershey and I is working against me and I need to grow bigger FAST!

Martha Basset said...

We couldnt see the video but will come back later as we know sometimes these videos are stubborn!
Can you please let us know Mango if Dexter does grow with the watering.
We have both always wanted to have long legs.
They must be such an advantage!!!
The barn was looking cool although we didnt like the sound of that machine at all!
It came out of the computer and Martha had to leave the room - of course she is like that even if you accidentally bang a tea cup!!!
Now the 'jumping flowers' - our flowers dont jump but we do sometimes consider that particular flowers would do better elsewhere in the garden.
We have tried to help by moving them but that is not appreciated either.
All in all in't a dogs life as we are sure you will agree Mango.
How can a breed by so misunderstood!!

Tee hee hee.. We had a good laugh! Poor, tiny labradude.. but we shouldn't make fun of the vertically challenged even if they're not big and macho like you and me, Mango.

You know what, we think that barn of yours is better than most houses hehe. It's sensational Mango.

Please oh please let me know if watering Dex makes him grow all biggie and stuff guess if it does I am for sure gonna stay in the bathtub all day!

Brind'Amour said...

Good job Mango! I think you're right about pee-wee's legs getting longer. I may have to try watering my little shrimpy cousins to see if it really works.

I don't however, understand the digging machine. We never need one of those with all the digging talent we have at home!

Water PeeWee to help him grow? You are a genius Mango! I saw a similar idea in a movie called Idiocracy.

Even though he is a puny 75 lbs, PeeWee is still too big for my stroller. Perhaps he could build up some muscles by pulling it for me.

Hi, Mango...

You are sooo smart...We learn sooo much from you...

Those jumping flowers look fun...I'm gonna go check if my Mom has planted any of them in my garden...

Does it work the same way if you water a Lhasa Apso??? My legs are pretty short, too...

Maybe add some fertilizer?? Dad keeps putting that out on the "grass" and watering it and watching for it to grow... All I see is dirt.

Ludo van Doggy said...

oh yes, jumping flowers, I has come across them before. They seem to have a liking for doggy mouths, doesn't they?

I will be careful not to go in any waters now, I does not want to get any bigger and not be able to fit on Mum's lap.

Oh Mango, one of the things we mised the most while we were at camp was not being able to read your wise and profound musings.

Watering Dexter was a stroke of genius. And catching your dad's helpers digging up rocks and playing with toys -- that was brilliant.

We do not see how your family could get along without your huge brain (and, er, other attributes)...

We have a few yappy dogs across the way that JH thinks are squirrels. I wonder if we water them, will they grow into more respectably sized creaures so that JH will be more reasonable when he sees them?

Wirey woofs,

Woooo Mango, you are sure one heck of a DOG! I swooned over that one photo, but have recovered enough write on your blog now....
I think I will try watering the BC, as he is rather small too. He hates water though, unlike me, so maybe that is why he is so short!

BOL...that video is grrreat! I would have run away like you Mango...I don't even like sprinklers that get too close to the sidewalk....I veer way around to avoid any water at all! ;)

What is that music in 'watering the lab'? Sounds like some demented circus music / techno mashup.

Sorry to go OT but I just noticed the header photo -- it looks like Mango is really giving Dexter an earful in that picture!

The idea o watering him was brilliant but it appears to have made him rabid. Maybe he is a Gremlin?

So long's its water from the garden hose and not from *ahem* ... I dare say the watering idea is a fantastic one - we've seen it work with Joe and Trixie who like being watered and are the biggest dogs at Dog Woods!
