Dexter Day - Cement Pond

Dexter Day! At last! The day got off to a rather slow start as Momma made feeble attempts to entertain me around the house.

But once the sun came out, I reminded her that I had an open invitation to visit the cement pond next door and NOW seemed like a good time for a swim. Let's go!

I started off with some warm up laps.

And then I was ready for some real action.

Did you bring the tennis ball? Huh? Huh? Did you? Did you?

Throw it! Throw it!

Shazam! Here I go!

And back again.

TENNIS BALL AND WATER! Almost better than FOOD!

Check out my foot. I am learning to use my webbed toes to get some real speed going.

Taking a break.

OK, I'm done, let's do it some more!

Oh happy day!

Followed by a quick dry.

It just feels GREAT to be ME!

Dexter done!

P.S. If you want to watch a movie of my fun in the cement pond, click here.

Dexter Dude: Nobody loves water like a Labradude. Our friend Travis swims wherever there is more than a spit hole. You make us lonesome for his big black nose.

Hi, Dexter...

What fun...You are an expert swimmer...

What was Mango doing while you were having soooo much fun?

Wow, suddenly my day seems incredibly dull and boring. Oh wait, that's because it is.

Wow it looks like you had bunches of fun with swimmies.

We DO NOT like swimmies or water for that matter.

Dexter, you are such a good swimmer! I bet that really cools you off. Mom loved the paw thing,; that is so cool. I am glad you had a fun day. Mom and I have an award for you and Mango to thank you guys for protecting us little dogs.

My mom always wanted a cement pond. I'm sort-of afraid of them.

Where was Mango?

Dexter, we wondered what you meant by a cement pond - is that dog speak for a swimming pool?!

You look like you were having great fun - if we were closer (a lot closer!) I'd come and visit so you could show me how to swim as I'm not very keen.

That looks like an awesome pond - I just wish I knew how to swim! (Dad doesn't want to encourage me, because we have to drive to our nearest pond, and he keeps muttering something about 'wet dogs' and 'new car'.... *sheesh*)

I can't go in a cement pond because the chlorine is very damaging to one's fur and modeling comes first.

If someone says I can't get wet because I am a "gremlin" don't believe them!

But I am glad you had some fun and got to cool off in the nice pond Pee Wee.

Wooo Dexter, if you want you can come over to my cement pond and throw the border collie in the pool with his ball. That would be fun!

I see all the seal lady lessons paid off!! You have great form going there in the video. I got the same web paw thing going too. This weekend Mommy was making me swim in the lake but it's just not the same as a cement pond... I think I want to stick to those! BOL Are you and Mango going to enter the 200th post contest I am having??

1st offs: so very jealous you HAVE a cement pond to borrow.
2nd offs: so very envious of your labradude velocities.
Love the game your pawrent played with you - have been studiously working on my Brick, but ma thinks I can progress. What do you think of the Brick now? Loved the movie of you - an agile hot doggie!
Hugs xo
Pee Ess: Give Mango some lipstick fer me.

Hey PeeWee..
Your webbed feet are frightening.... Part duck huh? But I love the roaching... Classic form with the head twist left. Nice. I give u a ten!

Dexter dude- you are such an amazing swimmer. And you make it look like such fun. I am a bit scared of taking my toes ofs the bottoms of the pool. Mummy is threatening me with swimming lessons- uh oh!!

Liffey's huge licks to you

ps- please tell the RH that comments on me being a dufus are RUDE RUDE RUDE!! I may be able to pretend to be a dufus but as you know us labradudes (or partial ones) are actually very clever and undufus like!

We got to try out our pool yesterday for the first time - a kiddie wading pool - that's about all we'll do because Scotties aren't known for their swimming ability.

Looks like you had a ton of fun.

I don't know about you, but I like to drain the cement pond when Sola gets on the diving board. Works every time!

Oh man!
What a great way to cool off! You have the bestest neighbors. Then again, I am a hound and I don't swim unless I accidentally fall into water...but it sounds like great fun!

Stay cool.
Hello to your brother : )

Ya Dexter you are our hero. We still haven't gotten up enough nerve to jump in Sis's cement pond. Maybe by the end of the Summer. Mom tried to get us in with the tennis ball but NO that didn't work either...

You're a natural, Dexter. I don't like to swim cause my topheavy chest and no tail make me sink forward, which is ok for drinking but not for swimming. Anywaaaay, where was Mango? Maybe you can use him as a float.
