Dexter Day - Visitors

Before I do my post I need to tell you that Momma is returning to the windowless training bunker for another week so you might not see or hear much of us for a bit. Plus she saved her homework (that she had three weeks to do) until Dexter day to do it so I don't even know if we will catch all the weekend bloggies. Sigh.

I am happy to report that on Saturday we had a big day and lots of guests; Grandma, Grandpa, brother, sissy, brother-in-law, sissy-in-law, cousin, and, most importantly, my little nephew, Misha the cockermess.

I thought that I would freshen up before they arrived, but when I went to my favorite pee pee place I saw the Relentlessly Huge practicing one of his new pee poses and decided to seek a less public location.

Since our guests didn't arrive until 1:00 everybody was pretty hungry so I supervised the laying out of foodables.

I had everything well in hand so Misha and the RH could just relax.

Since there were too many people to eat at the table, they all ate in the living room and I was able to snag some high quality scritches.

Misha kept getting lost due to his ability to hide in small, dark places, but thanks to the magic of the flashy beast we were able to locate him via his googly eyes.

RH hung out under the AC fan and within striking distance of the table full of food.

After lunch time for some action.

It was fun to have a little normal sized dude to play with. We could do neat stuff like run around under the observation deck stairs.

Go around again! Again!

I made a movie of our activities. My cousin, Jack, is visiting all the way from South Dakota and he gave me a good time running around the yard.

You can watch it by clicking here.

I was pretty impressed by the way Misha told off the giant slobber beast. I could take some pointers from him.

Look at what a lucky dude that Misha is! He gets to sit on his mom's lap!

But it was seriously hot out (and humid) and Misha melted right on the deck. I was worried we would need a spatula to scrape him up.

Even I got tired and needed to put my belly in the grass for a bit to cool down.

WOW! That was a super fun day, but I am wiped out!

Dexter done!

Wow, Misha is mister bossy, huh? Never seen RH move quite so quick as to avoid Misha's snips!

And nice of Cousin Jack to give you a good run like that. Almost like the humans had a plan of a Tired Labradude is a good Labradude. You don't think?

Dexter - you are a fine host, making sure that Misha had such a pawesome time - yes I guess you absolutely COULD take some pointers from the "cockermess" re dealing with RH. Wowzers! Only sorry that it's been so hot - I've heard that from my cuzzies back in the NE. Hope it cools off a bit and that you get all the rest you deserve from the big day!
Hugs xo

Wow, that looks like a fun day! I sympathize with the hot weather, though we're having so much rain I may need water wings soon.

Way to go Misha!!! (Dexter - you should take notes!) Looks like a great day! And I think the RH was quite smart where he positioned himself with air conditioning AND foodables nearby. No dummy there!

*kissey face*

PeeEss After seeing your yard, I've got to talk to Mom about getting us a bigger yard. My yard is postage-stamp sized in comparison....

Hmm...Dexter if Mango ever melts on your deck it's gonna take a lot more than a spatula to remove him...maybe a backhoe??? (You better let the RH have the good AC fan spots to prevent that....)

That Cocker doggie was a big one....definitely able to keep up with ya in playin'...!!!

It's still rainin' here...we're all gonna rust this summer...

My Dexter, you are certainly one handsome young Labraboy!!!!!!!

Love ya lots...

I can send AirFiona for you (I think you'll just make it under the weight limit); we don't have central air conditioning, but we've got a heavy-duty room air conditioner in the bed room that Dad runs to make sure that TaiChi doesn't get over-heated, and so that he doesn't get overheated. And I'm SURE Mom and Dad wouldn't mind if you slept on the bed with us. If need be, Mom can sleep on the floor! :-D

Stay cool, big guy!

Hey Dexter, you are quite the little host, aren't you? You look pooped out in that last photo.
Tell Mango that our Mom freaks out on a regular basis when we run off like that. Usually we come right back when she blows the whistle, but there have been times....

I really enjoyed the soundtrack to the video. That little Misha has got some gumption! Holy smokes :) Looks like a fun visit was had by all.

Honey the Great Dane said...

I think it is hilarious that a huge beast like Mango is heaving himself around to avoid a little fluff like Misha - when he could squash Misha with his paw! But then I shouldn't laugh given that I've got exactly the same kind of giant lump who is completely terrorised by small dogs, little kittens, pigeons, plastic bags...!

Misha is a beautiful boy but what a boss - we can't believe RH let him get away with that nonsense. But it was fun to see evfurryone running around and having fun with Jack.

Hey Dex
I agree Misha has moves on that RH and keeps his massiveness at bay. You should watch the video again for the technique training.

Good luck on getting momma time..
