Garden You Thin Ice

Yesterday, in order to avoid doing her homework for as long as possible, momma decided it was time to You Thin Ice our garden given that the vegetables have not been doing well and the weeds seem to have taken over.

The only thing spared was the tomato patch which still shows the promise of yielding at least a few edible fruits.

Even Pee-Wee didn't want to eat the mutant cucumbers. They got all yellow and bloated. Yuck!

The removal of the garden fences has opened up new pastures for my industrious grazing.

Weeds! Yummy!

The pointy headed one thought he had pulled one over on the Mango when he snagged the sole beet plant right out of the ground.

He thought wrong!

Mmmmm... fresh beet! Nom, nom, nom.

It was not until after I had consumed the most yummers beet that I realized it might dye my pee pee red thereby revealing me as the on the deck plants stealth pee pee perpetrator.

I will have to remember to wait a bit before I water the deck pots.

Much to my delight, the former cucumber patch was full of nice cool dirt that felt most refreshing to my large and overheated self.

Not to mention that there is plenty of grazing should I feel faint from hunger.

Be gone! Find your own raised bed.

This is quite comfy. If its good enough for a cucumber, its good enough for the Mango (of course I hope I don't turn yellow and bloated like those unfortunate cucumbers).

Mango Man! Oh yeah!

Oh Mango Man! You look quite at ease in the cucumber bed. Does it have room service? Might be a nice hotel for visiting doggies, huh?

Imagine being able to grow tomatoes and cucumbers without a greenhouse!!
We were amazed! Pity about the cucumbers right enough but the tomatoes look promising.
Mango you make such a dainty gardener!!!

I love the pic of you eating beets!
p.s. my word verification is "misha" - is that a coincidence? Or were you able to pick your words?!

What a great place to relax. You even can have fruits and veggies pop up from it and have a snack. The best of both worlds!

Oh Mango you lucky fellow. To sleep and dine in the same place must be heaven! Sorry your mommy's crops are fallow.
Our mommy's meager garden is actually thriving, so her fence stays up---she did lettuce and tomatoes in hanging baskets too and that is just plain cruelty to animals. We just can't reach them. Phooey.
Happy Monday to ya!

Mango -
Is that what they mean by "taking a dirt nap"? Oh, sorry, my mom just said that wasn't very funny... No hard feelings, I hope :)
Too bad a bout the garden, but at least your mom had the guts to try. We just stick to killing houseplants here! Didn't know beets were yummy - have to keep that in mind the next time my mom tosses them aside (she thinks they're yucky).

Stay cool, RH!!

I'm not a big fan of beets but glad you enjoyed them. Those cukes are scary! I think that they made a better bed than vegetables.

Dont' chew on the Tomato plants, guys... We've heard they are poisonous... Not the tomatos, just the plants (leaves and stems)
