My South African Adventure - The Arrival

Special thanks to Joey, Lacie, Petey, and Asta's moms. They helped my momma develop all the photos from my most incredible South African adventure (and please stop by their bloggies too to read their versions of things).

Our flight was rather uneventful as I instructed all on board in the art of Mango Meditations.

However, I did suffer from a bit of the motion sickies. Thank goodness the plane was equipped for just such emergencies.

Before we knew it we had arrived at our destination... South Africa!

It sure is hot there, I must say. I think everydoggie is looking quite ready for whatever our adventure has in store. Well, except maybe for Tanner who appears to think he has joined the foreign legion and I think Asta kind of overdid the bug proofing, but at least we are here!

As we pulled up to Max's estate, I couldn't believe my eyes!

That old scamp had gone and invited Honey, Miss Kylie, Khyra, and my Darlin MJ to meet us there!

Ladies, you look divine!

Oh yeah, you look good to, Max.

Feeling a bit done in from the long trip, I immediately took up a meditations pose poolside, only to have my karma disturbed by a "presence" in the chair beside me causing my tail to curl protectively about my most personal self.

Naturally Pee-Wee couldn't wait to dive in.... CEMENT POND!

Miss Kylie, Honey, and MJ certainly made themselves at home quickly. I think Honey might want to rethink that pose. Don't want to burn your most delicate self. I hear the sun is hotter here than in New Zealand.

Lacie insisted on posing with Asta in their bathing costumes. She must have picked up that hapless elephant somewhere along the way. She claims that it makes her bottom look smaller, but I think it really must be that "figure flattering" Land's End swimsuit.

Since when did Asta have red hair? Gals are certainly confusing to the Mango.

Toffee (Max's brother) insisted that he had "warm feelings" for Lacie and in his best interest, I took him aside to instruct him on the art of taming the beast.

Gosh, these pants are kind of pinching my nards.

Ooooo! What have we here?

I am starting to like South Africa. Oh Honey! You big dumb blond, you!

To be continued...

Mango Man! Oh yeah!

Oh no, Honey is a sun lounger hogger! Does she leave her towel on it when she goes to the little/big girl's room?
We did think you were right Mango with the sunbathing advice!
We laughed at you all in the pool!
Glad you are enjoying yourselves.

Hey Mango Dude!
Listen mate, we have to rope this lot in...there have to be some house rules!...
If you guys insist on swimming in the neighbours' pool, you realise that you are going to have the police on your back!!! South Africa is extremely security conscious at the moment and we can't have you guys setting off alarms and electric fences alike!
...and we had better speak to HONEY! With all her training, perhaps she can rope those girls in...do some pool aerobics or something.
...and as for TOFFEE...Where did you get that picture of all my pets? Those are our household kitties! Now you are forcing them into doing strange things! I am going to have to speak to TOFFEE about 'letting the cats out of the bag!'

EISH MAN...YOU GUYS MUST CONTROL YOURSELVES!

Looks like a pretty wild trip so far. Y'all better be careful or you'll get yourself deported! And tell Asta not to even think of trying to sneak that baby elephant back home!!

South Africa looks a lot like South Florida so far -- except for those rather large kitties!!!

Wirey woofs to all!!

Having some experience with Motion Sickies (Muzzer gets them BAAAAD) we cannot imagine the Mango Man in that situation. Maybe you should try Benadryl on the flight home.

I think Jake's gonna want some pants like those you and Toffee were wearing, Mango. He keeps going back and looking at that picture, over and over again. Moma thinks it's hilarious. Jake thinks it's rad.

And, just in case. I did ask Asta to bring me a souvenir from her trip, and suggested a wallyfont, but then decided it might be too big. Please make sure she doesn't try to bring that one back, even tho he is very cute.

Keep the updates coming, MangoMan. We are loving them.

With you in spirit,
Fergi and Jake ooxx

Hey Mango dude
Im battling here, mate...TOFFEE is becoming out of hand. He has his paws on all the ladies, and when I try and sort him out - he retires to give his accounts on my blog. What's a dog gotta do in this situation?
I know you are spaced out at the moment, so I'll give you two days to decide.
Cheers, Beers and licks

We think Honey looks great there in her hat on that purple lounger. But maybe she needs a bit bigger top to her suit.

Nice job, RH, you really know how to tame those big cats.

MangoMan! That's quite an adventure you are on! And how lucky that all your friends get to join you. I always knew Big Honeydog was a sun worshipper. You can just tell these things from her sun-kissed coat.

Cant wait for the adventure to continue!

What a TIME you are all having! Love Honey in that last photo! Her wrap is too cool! Glad you have access to a cement pond to escape the heat y'all! (And take care, Mango with that big cat training - and esp. in those skin-tite pants - woohoo!) Can't wait to hear more of your adventures down there!
Hugs xo

Oh Mango! I can't believe what I've missed in the last few days! Gosh - the sun must have gone to my head in South Africa because I don't remember behaving so shamelessly at the pool! (Still, I don't think I was as bad as you on that sun lounger...whew!! That's practially X-rated!!)

Your humans are great cameramen at capturing all our shenanigans...can't wait to see what other things they caught us doing - hee! hee! :-)

Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
ps. am off to catch up on your other posts now!

Honey the Great Dane said...

Oh Mango - I forgot to say - yeah, that little black dog in my class is a half-Labragal and she does bounce vertically - it is so funny! All the other dogs go OVER the jumps whereas she just sort of keeps bouncing straight up and down, like a helicopter. Her name is Libby and I think she is a Staffie-Lab cross...very sweet!

Oh - by the way - what did you mean about me "always knowing where my hiney is"? What is a hiney? It sounds a bit rude!!! :-)

Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
