Dexter Snow Day

First off, I need to say that we have officially run out of holiday cards and now the DOH cannot remember who got them and who didn't so if you were expecting a card from us and did not get it we apologize. I think that I will have to take charge of the whole thing next year because between The RH's limited "thought" processes and the DOH's forgetfulness it is amazing that anything gets done around here.

As promised, we got the Big Snow here in Master Chew Sits. Moose asked to see our new front porch in the snow. Here you go.

We brought in the outside tree last night so that it wouldn't get all snowy and icky.

We had to wait inside while Momma tried out her new snow blower. Since we had many inches of snow, she had to keep picking it up and it was most fatiguing for her. Her poor little arms were shaking from the effort.

But once that was all done we got to go out and play in the snow! Hooray!

I was so excited and did lots of zoomies! I even made a movie.

The Relentlessly Huge was difficult to get moving. He just wanted to do this...

And this...

I did try to engage him by showing him much fun there was to be had.

Eventually he snapped out his stupor and started doing his own version of being playful which involved making blurry face at me.

Of course, I can blurry face as well as the next guy.

I can also get my snooter even closer to the camera than this by jumping up and knocking it right off of momma's face, but she is not fast enough to get a photo and sometimes uses the HBO words when I do that.

I resorted to yelling at the Beastie to get moving or he might freeze into a statue.

He sort of moved around a bit, but it was accompanied by his strange vocalizations. You can hear them by clicking here.

All that action kind of wore me out and I thought we could use a break to wait for the snow to stop falling and then get out and really clear things up.

Hopefully, the snow will stop before 1PM or else it will never get shovelled due to Momma and Master turning into torpid football watching jalapeno popper munching slugs at that hour on Sundays.

See what a nice brother I am? I put Miss Khyra's huzzy photo over Mango's bed for him.

He is also enamored with Miss Kylie ever since he saw her fluffy tail and panty loons movie.

Me? I am happy to snuggle up with my cougar gal Randi.

Dexter done!

P.S. We both got our pressies in the mail but somebody (DOH) has been "too busy" to help us open them. Good help is hard to get.

Poor Mango, looks like he likes the snow about as much as I do. And those sounds - are you sure he is a rally a Mastiff and not a Wookie?

Hi Mango and Pee Wee! We got tons of snow too, about a foot and a half...it was really hard to go poopies (since the snow was higher than we are!), but we finally managed to. Mom was real happy.

Now she is mumbling about being relegated to doing "housework" since she can't get the car out. Oh well, we're glad she's home with us!

Wow - I'm just reading so many blogs about all you doggies have such fun in all that fluffy snow back there!!! Dexter: what cool zoomies you did -wish I could play with you back there - so much of it! Mango doesn't look too taken with it, but the juxtaposition between the moods of the two of you is hysterical - momma is still laughing over both movies and all the pix! thanks for sharing - and also - very cool to see how you put Miss Khyra's picture over Mango's bed - classic. I can't open my pressies either until xmas - big bummer!

Wow! Thats lots of snow. We have never seen snow, but our momma used to live in lake Tahoe and she has seen lotsa snow. Have fun making dog snow angels!

Oh wow you guys - we thought we had snow but it pales into insignificance in comparison to what you're wading through! Now THAT is SNOW!! We bet you had SO much fun - great photos!

And - sigh! - you're right, sometimes getting the staff, er - we mean the owners - to do the things that we require is HARD! Persevere - we hear humans CAN be trained if you have enough patience with them - he he he!

In all that deep snow I thought you had been transformed into corga-dogs! Like Wally the corgador and maybe the first ever corgastiff? Thank you for the snowy photo of the snowy porch! It is most beautiful! Too bad the tree had to come in but guess it would not look good all soggy either. Still it looks very winter wonderland!
I have to say though... I did not see any evidence of snow having been blown by DOH. Did she have it on when she was wrestling with it? I guess we don't really know what it should look like though so maybe we are wrong!

Most impressive zoomies Dexter. Perhaps you could give me some advice on dealing with the snow? More that 4 inches and I'm usually stuck!
Cheers, H.
I can so empathise about the problem getting the right help..

You boys got very much deeper s--- than I did, butt I still got waaay more than I wanted.
Glad that you got what you had wanted (well, Mango not so much). I'll have some pics of me tomorrow.
Hummmm my Secret squiggle word was noness... I think that means that I wanted NONE of the Stinky Snow. hehehe

You go as cracker dog in the snow as we do, don't you Dex? Did love your snow zoomies and Mango's, er, wookie sounds.

Gracie =^o.o^= said...

We got the snow too! I didn't go out in it like you did, I stayed inside and looked through the window at all of the cold white stuff. You all sure looked like you had lots of fun outside. Sorry your mom had to snowblow the stuff and have her arms almost shaken off. Warm up and bet you will be back out there again.

Mango, we think your attempts at howling qualify you to be an Honorary Siberian Husky - and we heard you were camped out in the cave with MFT. We are going to try to figure out a way to get the humans to move back east - we are really tired of having no snow.

Hi Dexter,

WOW you sure look like you had a blast in all the snow...we had a little bit of snow here but nothing like you go. Mango had a look about him like he thought you were crazy running around in all that white stuff. Have a good lazy afternoon snoozing while your hoomans are watching football. My dad is doing that right now but mom was thinking of going shopping.

Mango, Dexter just does not understand how hard it is for us large guys to move around in that much snow! We only got 2", and our humans are most pleased. I am, too, because I do not have to work so hard at taking care of business. My human brothers throw snowballs for me when we go out. It is great fun. Enjoy your snow, guys!

OK, now I need to make a video of Pipsqueak (aka Shandi) watching the video of the Relentlessly Huge in the snow. Wicked cute head-tilt action!

Also, I gotta teach her to make those Chewbacca noises he's got down pat...she does a version of it, but much like her size compared to his, it's a bit less, uh, full. ; )

Hi Peewee.
Next time you want to play in the snow-call me. That statue you call brother is no fun. I saw on the news a large pack of hump back whales made it into the harbor thanks to the mango calls.

ummmm I know my blog's been slow loading for almost 2 weeks. I've been taking stuff off but now I think I finally figure it out. Next visit you just might not have to make that cup of coffee while it loads.

Dexter, with the blankets of snow you and Marge wore today, it'd be difficult to tell you guys apart! Sheesh!

Like your momma, I, too, love looking at you black doggies in the snow. (No offense, Mango, you are quite handsome out there too - brindle isn't so far from black, anyway!)

As long as you don't have to drive in it, the snow looks so much fun! Plenty of time for romping around.

OM Dawgs, I've been waiting and waiting...thank dawgs I know it was the DOH's fault. (what does DOH stand for? it's killing me!)

juno is insanely jealous of all the snow. however, she doesn't even know what snow is... so that's good for me! she will next year!

Mango Man, you're hot in the snow.

Hi Dexter - if I could be there with you I would be playing with you in the snow... My mom says the nice thing about the "real" winter is that it is freezing cold outside and then you come home to a beautiful warm house with a fireplace. That is the beauty of winter... So it looks much like a white christmas for you guys!
