Contest Prize Announcement and Eating Vegetables

I can't believe it! My hero, Randolph, sent me copies of ALL of his books to give away to the winner of my exciting black lab contest! For those of you who don't know Randolph, he is a black lab and crime solver extrodinaire. The winner will get all three since they form a series and really must be read in order for maximum enjoyment.

Since there will only be one winner, I urge everybody who loves a good mystery with or without labradogs to buy his books so that he can get royalties which will enable him to write even more!

Sometimes Momma breaks out the bass-o-matic. Unfortunately for me, she does not put actual bass in it, but prefers to use it for fruits and vegetables. I am not allowed to get a vote on what goes in since I am forbidden from jumping on the counters, but the RH's head is conveniently located at counter top height so she usually uses whatever he wants (not fair).

After everything goes through the bass-o-matic, momma winds up with this "delicious" glass of something or other.

That isn't the good part...

The GOOD part is that left behind are all these nommy chopped up veggies and fruits. Today is was apple, beet, chard, and celery.

Well, you can imagine where THAT goes. Better than having a mulch pile, right?

Fear not. I got some too, but it was kind of hard to get my photo given the vigor with which I consume my foodables.

Hey! Remember how momma said she would donate one dollar for every contest entry? Well, she decided to go ahead and just donate $50! And here is the nice note we got from the Labrador Rescue People.

Type of Donation: In Honor Of
Honoree: Dexter's Black Lab Contest

Labrador Retriever Rescue, Inc.
Labrador Retriever Rescue Donation
Item: Donation
Quantity: 1
Cost: $50

Don't forget, the last day to enter into my contest is Sunday, August 22nd! The actual competition where you can vote and win fabulous prizes will be Tuesday or Wednesday.

Dexter done!

Did anything orange go into that Bass-o-matic? I don't like orange things. Except for pumpkin and sweet potatoes.
Love,

Delicious drink....;)

I've made carrot juice before with my juicer, but I didn't think of giving it to a dog instead of the compost. I'll have to try that next time!

Those books look like a pawsome prize for some lucky black labradog.
As for the bass-o-matic, it's nice, but pawsonally, I'd prefer a cheese-o-matic. I could get into that.

lotsa licks, Lola

Hmm, I'm not sure why she wouldn't use the bass-o-matic the way it was designed, but I guess this way is good too.

I bet a nice cold glass of bass smoothie would be really good on a hot day, though!

Very colorful crudité you pups got! Sorry it was bass-less!
That was a great donation of your tennis ball monies for homeless labbies! Sometimes lab rescue people are too busy with the doggies to write thoughtful thank you notes but it does make a lot of tails wags I promise you ;-)
Ok... just realized that I still have not sent in my official entry. Looks like I will have to use a 'file foto' since it is too late to get a new one made!

Do you need any help licking up those left-overs? We'd be more than glad to come get to the tight spots where your RH tongues may not fit.

We love veggies.

Hi, Mr. Mango and Dexter! My friend, Gimlab, decided to enter your contest and since he lives... Uh, I mean visits here in Corgi Country so often, I let him use our blog address, ok?

That was sure nice of your Mom to donate so much money's to that rescue. I know that all the rescues can use as much as they can get to help all those poor doggies.

We love it when Grammy uses her Jack LaLane Juicer. Course we usually have to share with the horses. A friend of Grammy's mixes stuff like that in with yogurt and a little water and freezes it for cool down snacks for her corgi, Palette. Sincerely, Gimli
