I know that lots of my pals have off leash adventures out in the wild, but not me. Apparently I am "unreliable." Plus momma has apoplexy if I get out of her sight so even though I know that I wouldn't wander, why risk it.
So sometimes we break out the flexi leash to enable me to run about and explore as long as I stay within 26 ft. of her. That's really not a problem for me and I rarely go all the way to the end, but I do love the feeling of being able to run ahead or lag behind or go off briefly to the side.
Recently I have been getting a special treat... walkies in the woods. We rarely walk in the woods because it can contain two things which terrify my momma;
- Off leash cracker doggies
Now I have nothing against off leash dogs per say, but they should always be under voice control of their owner and they should never ever ever be allowed to approach another dog without permission. And momma has just had too many experiences with stupid owners who let their dogs run up to her and sometimes they aren't even nice dogs. Humph.
As for ticks, well, I am optimistic that now that we have had ice on the water bowls they have frozen their blood sucking back ends off and will not be interested in attaching themselves to either me or (gasp) the DOH!
But back to my fun walk. So here I am in the woods. Hooray!
I couldn't get stupid blogger to post this right, but it is a scary foot bridge over a busy road. No problem for an agile guy like me, but it did scare the DOH a bit.
Sometimes, I just like to look around and listen to all the woodland sounds (and show off how handsome I am).
Amazing what you can learn out in the woods. For example, I never knew wild animals shopped for their sleepy furniture at the mattress store. So much for that whole burrowing in the ground theory.
Then there was this bridge over the highway.
And before you know it we're headed for home.
Now I know that wasn't very many photos, but to tell you the truth, we were have been so busy just enjoying the nice fall days that the flashy beast stays hidden most of the time.
But I did make this little movie.
As for having to substitute for the torpid beast at CGC school.... BORING! I don't know how he can stand all the sitting and staying and laying about there. And why did I have to wear my goofy reflective collar inside? Some humans were just plain too lazy to remove it. I looked like a dork.
I have to sub for Mango at graduate school today as he is still on the DL. SCORE! That means graduate school and funballs school both in one day.
Hey! I don't know what is going on with that Dennis dude, but it appears it has something to do with my RH brother. Check out his blog here.
