Missing You Monday

Friends, the Mango will be a bit scarce from the internets for the next couple of weeks. It seems there is a lot of "stuff" to do in preparation for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. No worries.

I am spending lots of time chasing the tennis ball and exercising my legs and hips as per the doctor's orders and am feeling great. PeeWee is fine too, but sulking as he missed his funballs class graduation due to momma having a cold in the head. Whatever. I am still attending CGC and as long as they don't deduct points for slobbers am doing great (although I am worried about having to spend three whole minutes with momma out of sight).

In the meantime, check this out. Remember how my bed was wedged behind the coffee table leaving not enough space for my large and needing to stretch out self?

Well, I kept pushing and shoving on the table to make room until one of the legs broke off. Master effected a repair, but now, after much debate, I have my bed situated thusly with plenty of room to relax in the living room whilst momma and master watch endless reruns of The Sopranos (although I am told I will be relegated to the dog cave when we have guests, sigh).

Here's a photo of PeeWee for all you labrafans out there.

Try not to miss me too much, OK? I will be reading bloggies but likely not commenting too much. You all know the drill...

Mango Man! Oh yeah!

Mango, a dog of your magnitude needs space!
We cannot think why your Master and Momma don't move out to that lovely barn!
You and Dexter deserve space and comfort and we are pleased to see you are getting it.
Guests can also go to the barn!
We will also be a little scarce as it seems we are to be abandoned.....!

We will miss seeing you round here, RH.....and da Labradude, too!

PeeS....thank goodness they finally got da idea, and gave you proper space to stretch your RH body parts out in da living room!

Niamh said...

A big guy like you needs lots of room to stretch out and keep yourself supple. We are glad to see you finally have enough room Mango. Keep your momma calm during all the holiday preparations. Humans do seem to get a bit overwrought when company is coming.

Your friends,
Niamh & Ambrose

We will miss you & PeeWee. But we know how it is when the holidays come round. Enjoy all that sleeping space!

Priscilla said...

Glad that you won the battle and got the space! You need SPACE!!!

Hope your mom's head is feeling better too.

We're already missing you from this minute onwards!!!

Wild Dingo said...

hmmm... i like that new set up. I'm thinking maybe DOH can relegate the guests to the doggie cave instead of the RH. I mean, is it your FAULT that you are relentlessly huge? no. so why should you have to be discriminated against? on the other paw, the guests don't even belong there... so there.

Loki still offers his cracker services for protection around your sleeping spot. you can snooze while a cracker goes, um, cracker on anyone who tries to make you move. :)

try to have a good thanksgiving. it won't be easy with all that foodable smell around.

Lola said...

Mmmm. We have to get ready for Thankgiving, too. I wonder if that'll affect the blogging and commenting. Probably.

Congratulations on your triumph. You need space. Lots and lots of it, to stretch out. It's too bad it had to come to breaking a leg off the coffee table, but a dog's gotta do what a dog's gotta do.

Happy Thanksgiving if we don't talk before then.

lotsa licks, Lola

Mango, way to show them humans how you need your space. We will miss your wonderful words of wisdom for the next few weeks but understand how the humans get over loaded sometimes. Glad you are feeling better. Hey keep track of our blog, we are going to post some pictures of our fur-friend that looks like you. The HoundDogs

Of course we will miss you and your wise musings, Mango! Where else would we have come up with so many creative ways to taunt our very own labradude? And BTW, how is it that those furry dorks can steal our fan bases without even lifting a paw? Hmpf.

I sure will miss your slobbery updates, Mango. But I hope you have a fantastic Thanksgiving in the meantime! I have a feeling the pet blogosphere is going to be kind of slow over the next couple weeks with all the Americans taking some time to prepare.

As usual, love the photos!

Good plan getting the bed oved to the middle of the floor! Hopefully, with all the thanksgiving prepartions, you'll more likely to be tripped over and garner extra treats!

We'll miss you and PeeWee!

We are so glad that the offending coffee table is now out of your way Mango. Too bad you had to go so far as to break the leg for the humans to move the darn thing.

We'll miss you guys, but we understand. Turkey day can take a lot of prep. See you soon!

Mango, you're in luck! They don't deduct points for slobber on the CGC test! I'm sure you'll do great. Too bad Pee Wee had to miss his graduation. Oh well, I doubt he even knows what he missed! We'll miss you over the next few weeks!

My momma is getting all cracker dog insane about that Thanksgiving thing, too. She also said there might be a cat called Winston coming to visit me. Do I need to worry about my little piggy friend with Winston around? Momma says I don't have to go to the dog cave. If people don't like me, they shouldn't come to my house. She's an odd duck, my Momma. Happy Thanksgiving, buddy, and my momma sends sympathy to yours.

breaking the table leg.... That's one way to make a point! One as relentlessly huge as yourself should have all the space he needs to stretch out and get comfy. Im sure it's good for your legs. :)

Well, I'm gonna miss you oodles and gobs. But I guess that I'm just gonna have to buck up and be all brave. (sniffle)

I'm so very much impressed with how good you're doing in your CGC class! I sure hopes you can give me some pointers. I wanna take it someday but I'm just not sure how I'll do meeting another dog. In the meantimes, I'm gonna take a canine DANCING class! I'm excited but I'm worried they might make me wear a tutu.

Wiggles & Wags,

PeeS. We wanna thank MangoMomma for her comment on our postie today. It meant a lot.

dewdana said...

Maybe if DOH had been more on her toes she could have had master take the top off the table and attach it to your large bunt not necessarily flat enough to make a table back and you could stay in the room when guests arrive! Your stripeys sort of even look like wood grain so I bet you could pass for a table? And for sleepy times you could strap a big pillow to your side and pass as an ottoman perhaps? paws crossed for CGC, I know you can do it!

Good job on breaking that table leg, Mango!! You gotta have your space!!

We'll miss you but we unnerstand about how humans get all busy around holidays and stuff....we'll see you soon, okay??

We are most delighted to read that your working parts are all in order again and that you are getting appropriate exercises. Abby the legal beagle says you gave your pawrents adequate and timely notice that the coffee table had to go, so it is totally not your fault it got broken. In fact, if being scrunched up behind it was the cause of your temporary lameness, you may have a cause against your pawrents for damages. Abby suggests you take payment in turkey, of which there should be an abundence at your house.

Have a happy Thanksgiving, Bubba & Pea!

Labrafans? Are there such things? Doodle fans, I can totally see, but Labrafans? Wow. I feel like I've entered the Twilight Zone or something! ;-) (Just Kidding, Dexter!!!) I am glad to see that your parents have finally come to their senses about your bed, even if they are daring to suggest that you be hidden away when there are guests..... And while I'm at it, what's up with this "stuff" parents are doing? Unless it is directly related to me getting lots of turkey leftovers, I am not impressed. Anyhoo, we will miss you, but are glad to hear you are feeling better, and have clearly been able to use Peewee to clean the stuff out of your slobber!

Mangoman - we need the help of your extremely large and popular self.

We're looking for word of mouth to help bump up the petition numbers, in memory of Rosie, the Newfoundland dog that escaped from her home and was shot and killed by four police officers on November 7th. Could you please spread the word?

Lotsa love,

Nanook and Pooka

(p.s. we hope your owwie leg is feeling better. Pooka has an owwie leg right now too. It's his right forepaw. Doc thinks it's a soft tissue injury. Owwie leggies suck.)

Hi Mango, glad to see you finally got a spot for your big slobbery body! I can't believe you had to break a table leg to get a spot for yourself, but hey do what you got to right? Don't worry about that 3 min wait dude, make sure your instructor practices it a few times before the test and you will do fine. My mom was totally worried about this part for me, because I barked and cried during the practice tests, but on test day I was able to do it! Of course if you lay there and just start drooling they may shorten the time in the event of a flash flood!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to your fam! We have family coming to my house..I can't wait!
