WTF Wednesday - Special Holiday Edition

The Mango is a fun loving, holiday kind of guy, but sometimes the way momma decorates is most perplexing to my large and wishing I had a more artistically inclined momma self.

This year some of our ornaments showed up on this new thing called an ornament tree. I'm not sure I really like it, but it does serve to display some of my most treasured ornaments (like my flat Grandpa Angus up top).

This thing comes out every year too. Momma likes it and since it is tucked away in the corner next to PeeWee's couch, I can't complain.

When I saw my large and handsome portrait replaced by this, I did get a bit annoyed, but tried to maintain my holiday spirit. Besides, at least Beautiful Raja got to stay up on the wall.

Wait for it...

That has got to be the sorriest excuse for a festive holiday tree that I have ever seen.

Well, at least she can't mess up the dogtivity...

Note to large and not coin operated self:

Always check momma's nommy treat pocket for loose change prior to engaging in the reward based activities. I think you get the picture... ka-ching! Blech!

Mango Man! Oh yeah!

P.S. Momma so did not make that wreath on our front door (or the thing next to PeeWee's couch either). She bought both of them at the charity auction at the work place. The lady who made them is the same lady who helped momma make her lame-o wreath that is in the dog cave. Fear not, momma is scheduled to go back and visit that crafty lady for some more tutoring.

Oh Mango that is quite a coincidence. Mine is not the only household where treats and coins get mixed up (see my post this morning).

Hehehehehehe...bwhahahahahaha...Oh me, Mango dis was a great tour of you Christmas decor!
At least your tree ain't got freakin' FAKE snow it.
My mum has unfortunately been huntin' one of them ornament thingamabobs (gasp)!

Too funny, we were about to suggest you visit Bertie's blog to see that Mango Momma isn't the only one who gets confoosed, but see that Bertie told you himself.

We haven't had that problem, but now we'll be on the alert for any signs of coin/treat/kibble confusion.

Wirey woofs,

Jake and Just Harry

Man on Man that tree is pitiful. I heard back in the day they use to hang fruit above the door. I guess momma doesn't want to do that to you...

PS- Hey I already told that jolly guy all about your obscene lipstick follies this year. Seeing it was the solomon pond mall santa, i think u made the nice job list

Priscilla said...

LOL Mango! Am I glad my momma doesn't keep any coins in her pocket instead of treats. Anyways, there are so many treat containers all around the house!
I'm so sorry your mom had to replace your beautiful portrait with that christmassy thingie. Don't worry. Soon after christmas, it'll be gone, and your picture will be back up!

We have to say that is a pathetic little tree and we are against sticking trees up angel's butts - BOL!! But it's better than the tree that we have - NOTHING!! Our Mom needs to get crackin' on our Christmas decorations!

That is a such a tiny tree to have near your relentless huge self Mango. And will the PeeWee mistake it for a stick and run around the estate with it in his mouth>

At least your momma has some festive, holiday spirit; ours is the grinchiest mom ever. Now that dogtivity is TOO CUTE! (Although I did not see a BT in there)

Wow Mango...just wow! That poor little tree reminds DOH#2 of Charlie Brown(whoever that is). As for the coin vs. treat's happened to us a couple times and we have to keep reminding the DOHs we are not coin operated. Hope you have a good one!

PeeS- yup, torture in clothing. That's mom's specialty and she printed them and mailed them on cards for all the world to see my embarassment. At least the num nums make it kinda worth it...

Oh Mango, at least the Mango Momma tries! So far, the total holiday decorating output here is: one wreath, green, one garland, green, one door decoration (guess what, GREEN!). We think your Momma is making a wonderful Holiday Home, and we think you should appreciate it!

Someone has to buy the trees no one else wants or they become fire wood. We likes the angel on the top.

What is up with taking down your portrait? Where is that in the Holiday Code of Honor?

Your Mum seems to be moving into a lavender scheme again, remind her about the colors traditionally used for Christmas (although our Mum wants that wreath in your header and she is willing to fly East for it).

Love, Dozer and Cooper

Well, Mango Man, at least your mom is making an 'attempt' to decorate your Estate.....however feeble that might be! I don't think all your RH Presents are going to fit under that tree, though!

And my momma TOTALLY freaked out at your Dog Nativity scene. I fear she is going to be on a search fur one of those from now til Christmas....and beyond!

She took Mango's picture off the wall!!! What kind of holiday spirit is that?

The dogtivity is CLASSIC! (although we're pretty sure some of your readers may be praying for your souls once they see it) We must get our Mom to do something similar at our house.

Mango, sorry you nommed some coinage. Gives a whole new meaning to you making a deposit in your yard.

That tree could probably use a good watering, have the bean put it on the floor so you can do that for her!

We're not much into decorating but you've got some cool stuff!

I'm a big fan of the multiple trees. I refer to that has super-festive! I have a tiny house, but I managed to squeeze 6 different Christmas trees all up in there.

Why did she bring in a holiday bush? This is most confusing. At least when my people bring in a tree, it's large and totally messes up the traffic pattern in the family room. And you know how that messes up mastiffs, but, hey, they only do it for a little while each year, and they give me extra cookies when I get upset. So, they can bring in the tree if I can have cookies.

Did I ever tell you about my predecessor, Sarge? He was a large and handsome fawn fellow. When they brought in his first Christmas tree, he was but a boy of 6 months, and the house was smaller. One night, he felt confused, and tried to race through the doorway that the tree blocked. It went over, KA-BOOM! Momma was less than amused, as I hear it, because Red just laughed and picked up the tree, and she had to fix it before the children woke up. Now THAT is a Mastiff With Tree story!

Hey! Tutoring? Didn't they do that to Pee-Wee, and didn't he have to be a conehead for a long time? Poor Mango Momma!

Fiona, as typed by Dr. Liz said...

Oy. We don't really do the 'festive' thing in our house (Dad's not into it and Mom has better things to do with her time, apparently, like take 10,000 pictures of us playing with a frisbee), but that tree? HAHAHAHAHAHA. Kinds makes me feel better about our completely tree-less house. (We've got lots of treea outside, just no lights on them. Our neighbors across the street light up all their trees and their house, though, so we sort of get a contact-festive thing going (Mom says it's like a contact high - I have NO IDEA what she's talking about, BTW...)

I'm glad that I don't have the only craft-challenge Mom around here! ;-)

Great (and very funny) post Mango! Still chuckling over here. I have to say, although I agree it could rival Charlie Brown's poor little tree, I am for the underdog (pardon the pun) and think there is a...certain cuteness to it! But I do feel sorry for that angel! Ouch! Have a merry!

Carol from Down Under said...

Hey Mango, the decorations are cool. Evenly spread around the house, adding just that little extra touch of class. I too love the dogtivity. Any craft type ornaments in our house are bought. If I tried to make one it would scare Father Christmas away. No worries, love Carol.

At least you have that cool Dog Nativity seen to get you through the Holidays. :) We hope to post our Christmas Tree picture. As it is still standing, which is a plus and Winston hasn't pee'd on it. :)

At least you GOT a tree! Grammy was to lazy, or not breathing well enough, to even put one up this year. She sounds like a big old bellows when she gets up to walk from one room to another... or at least she HAS. She'd doing a bit better this week.

Hope you had a great Christmas! The CCC
