An Internet Holiday

First of all, I want to thank all my pals for their nice words about the seizure monster. It really helps momma to read your comments. Seizures are not particularly common in full sized doggies such as myself, but they are all too common for doggies in general. No medicines for me right now as the monster stays away for long periods of time already. I am feeling fit and hearty and am even starting at a new school today! Woo hoo! Break out the hot dogs.

Now, about this internet holiday. Well, the DOH told me that she is just feeling a tad stressy about all the "stuff" required to keep up in life and that "we" need to take a break from the internets for a bit to allow her to get her mentals back on track. Whatever.

So, starting today, no blogging, no facebook, no google reader, and daily application of the mark all as read button. Can you stand it? She will let me check my peemail exactly twice each day in case something super important happens in which case we will break radio silence (well, I should hope so).

Worse still, no more obsessive carrying about of the flashy to record each and every adorable and clever thing that I do. Are you freakin' kidding me?

No worries, there is nothing dire going on at the estate. All residents are healthy in body, if not in mind. Just a little experiment I suppose to see if the week goes markedly different by returning to prehistoric times when dinosaurs roamed the earth and computers were guided by punch cards.

Here is a photo of me and the Pea posing with the last of the snow just so you don't forget what we look like.

Mango Man! Oh yeah!

P.S. Any comments you leave on my bloggy go directly to my peemail. Thank goodness for small things, right?

Totally understand; we've been on a bit of a self-imposed vacation ourselves with the sickies (although Mom still manages to play on Facebook...). Enjoy training your Mom to feed you hotdogs! (And Mom is giggling about the punch-card thing - apparently she's not the only one who rode dinosaurs to school when she was a pup!) And if the Pea needs a snow fix, we should be good here for a few months, so he can come any time. We got 8 inches overnight, BTW... ;-)

You boys have a fine time watching the grass grow and stomping through it chasing balls. We still have lots of snow, so we don't know how long THATS gonna last.

Hope you two and the DOH get your mentals in order in fast time.

We sure hope that you all enjoy the mental health break! We'll miss you, but we know that taking time to stop and smell the flowers is important, too, and sometimes real life just won't stop breathing down your neck. We'll be thinking about you and hoping the seizure monster stays at bay! Tell your DOH that she can e-mail us anytime if we can help or answer questions about our experience with epilepsy!

Oh Mango - I'm SOOOOO sorry this is so late - it's Mon morning here in Australia and it's the first time that Hsin-Yi has allowed me to check on my blog friends since last Fri so I'm a bit behind. We've actually been on a sort of silent "internet holiday" ourselves - in the last few weeks coz Hsin-Yi felt exactly like your Momma and she decided to only update my blog but leave all the emails & Google Reader stuff - so we've been very behind with friends but "something had to give".

Anyway, so I feel really bad that I didn't hear about it earlier to leave a comment (what kind of friend is that?!) but I'm really glad to hear that you are all better now and I really hope it'll just be a once-in-a-long-time thing which might not be nice to watch but at least hopefully won't do you any other serious harm and might just be something you have to live with, if they can't find any specific cause.

Sending you lots of healing slobbers -
Honey the Great Dane

Mango, this is a good thing to take a break. Your momma has done such a great job of helping you with this blog, Dexter too! I admire her for going "dark" for a bit. It's hard to do - I know because I am addicted to the internet and blogging specifically. I thought about you today because Mr. Tennis and I drove past the "Mango" exit sign to "your settlement" today as we visited my brother. Everyone rest their mentals. (Note to Momma: I think you need to visit Mango's place in South Beach in Miami. You know what I'm talkin' about :})Ann

I am sorry to hear about the incident of seizure. It must have been horrifying to Mango's Mamma. I hope the moster will never ever come back!

Mango's Mamma, have a relaxing break! Actually it feels good not to have Internet access sometimes. We couldn't read or write blogs for a while after we moved to our new home. We missed our friends a lot, of course, but we somehow enjoyed the freedom and spent more time doing things together in the real world. I look forward to seeing you back online.

Hey there Mango-Momma...
Although you are always missed, I must say, it's a great idea to have a break at times. This blogging business is quite addictive and can become a crutch (for me, at least), so it's good to try and feel an alternative reality.
Enjoy the break. Come back refreshed. Our thoughts remain with Mango. (I watched that video and can only imagine the stress of these episodes)
Take care now.

Enjoy the blog-break, Mango. A decent rest is needed on and off, hope all of you have a fuss-free holiday and your mom has some good time to fix her mental troubles.
You all will be missed tremendously.

We understand the need for a break, we have actually cut way down on posting and to be honest we have been busy and putting our focus on other things but we still love to get on here and check up on our pals and stuff. take it easy guys, see yall when you get back.

I meant to leave a comment on the seizure monster... i'm so sorry woo had another. at least the DOH is tracking them and studying them tho. all you have to do is look cute and accept all the treats and lovin' afterwards, right?

as for the holiday from the internet: woo hoo! it's about time. i don't blog daily anymore and i only check the reader now and then. i just can't do it every day. but you know what? nothing changes too much if you check in once or twice a week on a blog pal friend versus daily. i'll bet you don't visit in person friends as much as your blog friends. and as much as we love the dog blog world, well, let's face it, it's a little strange to spend so much time with a keyboard interface versus a "face" face!

i vote more face time! or try just doing 2x week after your holiday... i mean after all, the world NEEDS the Mango Man! Oh Yeah!

You're takin' a break just as we're making a brief return. We so understand. We hear Moma talking about it all the time. Seems there's something sort of "addictive" about the internet, and we're in the process of "finding a manageable balance." Whatever. We know where you are. And we think about you all the time. So, big and very important friends, enjoy your break. We'll be thinkin' of ya.

Hi Mango and Dexter's momma. We will miss you, but I'm telling you I do understand. I've had to take some breaks along the way myself. Internet business is time consuming and is addictive!!! Just keep us posted please on the seizure monster. I had an Airedale years ago that had the same issues. He lived 10 years. He started having horrible "break thru" seizures. His last one last 4 whole minutes....That was 4 of the longest moments of my life. I lost my baby shortly after that. You take care of him and keep all of us posted.
