Good Thoughts for Buddy Please

Dexter here reporting that my good friend and fellow labradude just had his TPLO surgery. The vet said the surgery went really well, but now he has to "take it easy" for 12 whole weeks.

Can you imagine? Poor Buddy! So hop on over to his blog here and wish him well.

Cruciate ligament injuries are not unusual in labradogs. You know why?

Because unlike some torpid beasts.... sheesh, will you look at that.

Labradogs actually MOVE! Bend, twist, action! GO!

Oh, check out my muscle butt.

Which means we can sometimes overdo it and get those bad boo boo's. Gosh, I do try and limber up before a work out, but sometimes in my exuberance to party down I find myself contorted in curious postures.

And I have been fond of flying ever since I was a wee pup.

Hopefully my sturdy limbs will not succumb to injury, but you never know and I will be keeping a close watch on Buddy to see how he manages all that sitting around. Hope he doesn't go totally mentals.

Dexter done!

Dexter, we love your exuberance, but do be careful. We have already visited Buddy and left good wishes, but no problem with leaving a few more here. Paws crossed for dear Buddy.

Dexter Dude: You are a most wonderfully limber and active fellow, but remember, you are not a terrier, and since you are bigger than most terriers, you must be more gentle on your bones and liggy mens. Otherwise, you will have to exercise your mentals like Mango does.

You are right, the Labradogs, they are curiously prone to problems like this! Poor Sophie herself had a partial ACL tear in her left knee. :( Anyway, wishing Buddy well and I'll run over and give my well wishes in his blog as well.

While we are talking about labradogs, my friends at Eromit Kennels who have the most gorgeous little labbies, could use some POTP too... they are on the verge of losing their home and kennel into the cottonwood river... I just wrote about it on my blog as I'm quite sad about it! :(

We didn't know about Buddy's medical condition; thanks for letting everyone know. We stopped by to give our support.

Dex, be careful with all those athletic moves. You've got a dancing contest coming up and you have to stay healthy and uninjured.

We really love the header photo! That's such a sweet pic of fraternal love.

When Abby had her girly bits removed, Mom was supposed to 'keep her down' for 2 weeks. Uh-huh. The vet helped Mom drug Abby into oblivion for a week, and after a week, they gave up. I can't imagine 12 weeks!

Nice header photo - you and the relentlessly torpid look quite sweet together! :-)

Hi Dexter - fellow lab here, oh yeah I love to jump too. My favorite thing to jump for is a football - ANY football of ANY kind. My human can't keep enough of them around for me. I love the new picture of you and Mango at the top of your blog. Very nice!

Have a great day, Dexter!

Hey Dexter, I hope your friend gets better soon! Auntie Penny got a torn cruciate ligament a couple of years ago. She didn't get the surgery due to being of the older pursuasion but lots of TLC and it got better, took about a year altogether.
Mango, so glad to see you is feeling way better after your wobbles, you show those seizures who's boss! Sorry I didn't be around to wish you better earlier!

Oh Dexter...all that moving is dangerous...do you know Murphy from the Naughty Terriers Club on FB? He loves to chase sticks and um well his Dad tossed a big one at him and well let's say he now has a concussion. The scary thing is he's still not afraid of those stoopid sticks. Frankly, I prefer to go to the gym for an aerobics class...you should see me in my purple spandex...smokin' hot....

Feel better Buddy! Though I should warn ya, our brudder OtP apparently had one of those tears that was never repaired. We have some serious doubts he ever moved liked a labradude. He claims otherwise. We think he was always a chubby old man.

We're with you Dexter. We love to run and jump and twist and fly except Morgan who's too old and Tsar who is a cat.

Take good care of your legs and watch where you jump.
