Sure, that dopey seizure monster visited yesterday, but today is a new day and it is a day to celebrate because....

Today is the birthday of my good friend and fellow mastiff, THOR! That's right, and he is TEN years old today. Yoiks!

Momma says that mastiff doggies are only around for six to eight years on average (gasp, I just turned SIX myself). But Thor is a regular mastiff Methuselah for sure.

I suspect that his long and happy life is due in no small part to the wonderful noms his mom makes for him (unlike the evil witch lady that I live with who won't even make me a livers cake for MY birthday).

So get on over to his bloggie and wish him a happy birthday and many more.

Mango Man! Oh yeah!

P.S. I did get some cards and pressies from my pals (how wonderful for me). I will post about them as soon as the lazy DOH gets the flashy out.

OH Mango, I read about your horrible seizures in Honey's blog. I'm so sorry that that happened to you! Why does the seizure monster always have to attack such innocent, good-looking dogs like you? I hope you're feeling better today.

I will be dropping by Thor's blog right now. Thanks for letting us know about his birthday!

Firstly - happy, happy birthday to Thor! Wow. 10 years old. I bet he has some good stories to tell abouts the good old days.

Secondly - happy, happy birthday to YOU! I'm ever so sorry i missed it yesterday. I guess I was too busy celebrating my Auntie K's birthday. I think it's prolly one of the neatest things in the whole wide world that you and Auntie K have the same birthday!

And lastly - I'm oh-so-sorry abouts the seizure monster. I just hate that thing. I wish it would just go away and stay gone for good. But I'm proud that you don't let it keep you down for long!

So what does Thor (the God of lightening) do with the flashy beast? I'll visit his blog to investigate.

Mango, I'm so sorry I missed your birthday (my mum is way behind reading me blog posts as I lie by her feet - you just can't find good help these days) but she has just read your last few posts to me and I think your momma should still give you a cake with a candle (for her to blow out or you and the pea to "try" to eat) to wish that seizure monster away. A special cake to mark the occassion of a new era in your life (i.e. trying new drugs, even though your momma worries about the side effects, which I'm guessing are not as bad as your seizures).

So tell your momma I say that you need a belated birthday cake for your 6th birthday to wish that monster away forever, and to celebrate all the good years you are going to have together once the pills start working. She can even hide the first pill in your cake for you to find.

Happy Birthday to Thor!

We were very sorry to read that you had two more seizures yesterday Mango - your poor Momma must be so worried about you and its so horrible for you. We really hope the medicine will help and give you a break from the seizures.

Lots of good wishes from all the gang here,

A belated happy birthday to you, big guy! (And sorry about the Seizure Monster visiting - we're trying to get Mom to burn him in effigy!) But no cake?!? Sheeesh. We're gonna have to talk to the DOH - no cake is criminal!

Good to read you are back to your old trenchently observant self, RH! We did not know you and Thor had birthdays next door to each other! Now we have to go look and see when El'bow's birthday is. There can't be a law requiring mastiffs to be born in May; Abby's pretty sure that would be illegal. Guess there could be a rule that all OFFICIAL mastiff birthdays are in May, though, just like all racing thoroughbreds have a Jan.1 official birthday. And the Queen has a real bithday in April and an official birthday in June.

It's Thursday. Yesterday was Wednesday. And Moma had written down on her calendar that yesterday was your birthday, Mango. We're not sure if that's true, or not. And OurMoma has been worthless with helping us keep up with details, let alone visiting blogs to leave our best regards. So, we're here to say. Happy Birthday (belated) to you ... AND happy birthday to Thor. And happy birthday to anyone else you know that might want to get our best wishes. 'Cause you stand a lot better chance of delivering them than we do. At the moment. (We hope that changes sometime soon.)

One thing we haven't forgotten, though, is to keep our paws crossed for a long absence of those horrible seizures. It makes us sad everytime we learn that you've had more to deal with. It's just not fair.
