Big Storm Misses the Estate - Phew!

Yesterday we had very bad weather here in Master Chew Sits. Parts of the Commonwealth had tornados. A weather event for which we here in the Northeast are ill prepared.

Momma was at the work place and she says EVERYBODY tried to leave at once causing a gigantic traffic jam so she stayed at work because she thought it would be safer.

When the radar showed a break in the weather she made her way to the estate. Master had fastened our leashes on us so that if he had to duck and cover he could grab us post haste for sure.

But we did not get more than big boomer storms here at the estate. We even got to play tennis ball in between storms.

Momma made this movie. Now I know that lots of my readers are accustomed to the severe weather, but we most certainly are not so we found this storm most impressive.

Did you see me taking a nap? Yuh, no worries for the Mango.

OK, well, it did make it rather difficult to snooze... but with the Pea being a gun dog and all and me being, well, ME, there was no shaking or quaking going on.

And in the morning.... check it out.

Nom, nom, nommy, nom, nom. Looks like breakfast to me. Stupid rabbit. That whole standing still does not fool the Mango for an instant.

Now, I know my readers all too well, so I am going to make a preemptive comment and inform you that most certainly is NOT a big poop on the walkway. Sheesh! What must you guys think of me.... it's just a hunk of grass from the lawn mowing machine.

Mango Man! Oh yeah!

P.S. It would certainly set my mind at ease if all my Master Chew Sits pals could put up a short post that they are OK because I know lots of our readers are worried. I was checking on the FB last night and I think that they all got through the big weather just fine.

Wow that is quite some dramatic and scary weather. Mango we think you and Dex are very brave, to keep so calm. We get lots of bad weather here in Scotland, but it's the boring kind, just rainfall, not lightening and tornadoes. OK, Gail has reminded me, we do often get pretty rainbows, as I showed in my last post.
Toodle pip!

Glad no tornados came near your estate Mango!

We get big thunderstorms like that all the time here in NC. You ignored it completely which is what we do too. Well Ambrose will sometimes bark at the lightening if it comes to close to our house but fortunately neither of us gets upset by it. Stay dry.

Oh my goodness, Mango - we hadn't heard about the storms on this side of the world yet (or maybe Hsin-Yi hadn't - she is useless with checking the news and always has to rely on Paul telling her stuff) - so I've only just heard now from YOU! But am glad to hear that you're all safe and weren't stressy in the stormy noisese.

We had those storms here last weekend. The 2-legged slave says I must be losing some hearing because I just sat and meditated through them this time instead of having what she calls a "cat fit".

Most impressed with your quick-thinking Master to clip on your leashes just-in-case. I have heard about far too many doggies and kitties in Missouri who went missing in tornados.

We are glad the tornadoes missed all of you. Our Mom and Dad lived in one of the areas of Springfield that got hit badly. Mom has still not heard from one of her cousins who lives in the area. The thought is that they just don't have phone service or electricity, but we are all hoping she is OK.

None of us is crazy about those big boomers either, they happen a lot here in Kansas.

Glad all is well at the estate.

Hello Mango and Dexter,

I'm glad you made it through the storms ok. I know we have had alot of storms so far this year and you know as an old girl I just can't take it...I'm such a scaredy dane when the thunder and lightening hit! I pant and walk around in circles, mom thinks I'm gonna have a heart attack.

We are so glad that the worst part of the storm bypassed the Estate. We are sure that was due to the tremendous Mango Aura that surrounds it. But we definitely thought that Dexter Dude looked nervous.

I just heard the news here in Saskatchewan that you got hit with tornados in Mass. I instantly wondered if you were ok.... thank you for posting for us so we know you are alright!!
It's been a bad, bad year for the storms and makes me a little nervous because once that season really hits in Saskatchewan (usually June-Sept) it can be a rough ride for us too. We are kinda known for bad thunderstorms and the occasional tornado ourselves- not nearly as often or as bad as down south but they still had me hiding in the basement last year, with the dogs, maybe 4-5 times? Scary!!!

Anyway, so glad you are ok and thanks for letting us know!!! :)

We saw those tornadoes on the news, and we're glad to know you're okay! It looks like a pretty scary storm. Lilac doesn't like being carried down to the basement, but I'm glad that Mom and Dad have set up enough creature comforts in the basement that we can be down there comfortably when the storms blow through our area! Just because they happen a lot more often here doesn't mean we don't appreciate how dangerous they are.

Mango, so glad you and Dexter made it through the storm with no worries. We get those big boomers almost daily here in FL and they are no fun for some of us scaredy cats (dog, actually). Thanks for letting us know you are ok! Good job keeping the apes from panicking.

Glad you know you're safe ... and that it seems other MA bloggers are, as well.

Now what we really want to know is ... how's the battle with the seizures, Mango? Moma has fallen behind, and we'd like an update. Crossing paws all is well. It's about time for some good news.

So glad to hear you're ok and that there is no damage to the estate. Sounds like Mango Master must have been a Boy Scout, he was so well prepared to grab you and Dex and hustle you to the basement if necessary. Mama's originally from Okiehoma, so she's more accustomed to twisters than we are, but this has been a banner year for twisters, even for Okies.

Amazed that you had power with such a gigantic storm brewing outside the windows.
