Nurse Dexter

Every time the big hand and the little hand are on the bottom of the clock it is time for the RH to take his phenobarbital. But of course sometimes the DOH can be forgetful so I am doggie on the spot to help her remember.

Look, momma, it's time for Mango's medicine.

Momma makes a little sandwich out of a nom and the pill.

And of course there is always an extra cookie for me for being such a good brother.

Dexter done!

P.S. Momma wants me to tell you that the RH has been seizure free for almost a month, but we are not in the clear yet as his usual cycle was 6-8 weeks between seizures, but we're all hoping that the seizure monster has left the building.

Good boy, Dexter!! Sis is good about letting us know it's time for a treat, which really means it is time for her twice-daily eye drop. Hem. Whatever works; she's reminded me a time or two, and while I was in Philly, the Knight stayed on schedule, including her Saturday morning wake up reminder.

Such good news that the Relentlessly Huge has banished the SM for a month now. No doubt due in large part to your excellent timekeeping, Dexter.

Also, you look "squeeeeee" cute in that picture with the medicine and the clock. The 2-legs slave says she could just eat you up, you are so cute. 2-legs slave needs to be thwapped with a velvet-paw for such impudence.

Mom wishes it was that easy to get pills into Phantom - he is impossible, can't hide them in anything that he doesn't recognize the pill. Usually she has to just put it way back in his mouth and hold his mouth shut until he swallows, and that can be a longgggggg time.

You are a great nurse helper, Dexter, glad you get rewarded well too.

I sure hope them seizure monster have left the building and going for more colder places. Its summer and Mango deserves all the good times. Else... just pack the seizure monster and ship it to timbaktu.

Glad he is feeling much better and Dex is such a good boy :)

Hi Mango, Dex, and Mango Mama,

I've been reading your blog for a while now (creepy? heh) and only now got a blog... so wanted to introduce myself...and ask if it was okay if I followed your posts. Unfortunately my blog is a little lacking now...but we will be welcoming a Great Dane into our home soon -- and then we promise it will be a lot more interesting! :)

We here in Wisconsin think you guys are just the best...and also hope the seizure monster keeps at bay. Poor Mango... I feel your pain as I have epilepsy too. It is controlled with medication but was also cyclical. Potentially something to do with hormones??? At least that's how it was for me.

Fingers crossed the evil thing doesn't rear its head again.

Cuddles,
Jill

One would think that the RH would be a little less critical of your Labradorkiness seein's how you are an important playah in keepin' the seizure monsta away. Let's hope that DOH doesn't get your biscuit and his meds mixed up. You might get even loopier than you already are. I mean that with all Labradude respect.

Woofs and loopin' slobbers,
Chester ;0=)

Good thing for the RH that you're so conscientious and well-organized, Dex! We join in the general Sense of the Blogville Congress of the Whole in hoping that the RH's SM is now truly and permanently vanquished.

Jed was at the vet's today for a follow-up check after his surgery and we saw a really cute little Mastiff girl, about 5 months old. She's a fawn cutie named Macy.

Keep up the good work, Dex! And remember the Lab-orer is worthy of his hire - in your case, more noms.

Wow, RH is lucky to get his pills in a yummy sandwich - my human just shoves mine down my throat - the meanie! Actually, most of the time, they're 'chewables' or occasionally, if they're not, then she does smear a bit of peanut butter on them...but just a BIT! Humph!

Good on you, Nurse Dexter, for keeping an eye on things! That's great news about the Seizure MOnster's absence...long may it continue!
