A Sad Farewell to Joe Stains

Friends, it is with a heavy heart that I had to bid farewell to one of my oldest and bestest blog buddies, Joe Stains.

Where do I begin? Joey was totally my hero and one of the original dogs with blogs for sure. Full of spunk and attitude, that little guy.

I first met him at his Super Bowl Party way back in 2009 when I was a new blogger and not terribly accustomed to the mighty adventures which he hosted.

Joe was the official Bad Sports judge at the very first ever Mango Minster! He really set the tone for judging badness. He was one bad-ass little dude himself.

We had so many wonderful adventures together. Like our big trip to South Africa where he kind of went missing for a bit after indulging in the methane generating foodables.

Only to show up having totally gone native and having a grand old time.

Yuh, and he gave out Stain Awards to only the best stain makers in the whole world and I will cherish mine forever.

Joe, buddy, I dread to think what will happen to the doofus without your stabilizing presence. But you are running free over the bridge where there are no thunderstorms and the Steelers always win (OK, the Yankees too).

Mango Man! Oh yeah!

Hey Mango,

Joey and Tanner are one of our earliest friends since we first started blogging 4 (or issit 5) years ago. It's so sad to lose him, especially so soon after we lost Butchy.

You are absolutely right that he is one very special guy and we too wonder how Doofus would cope without his stablising presence. Hope that he's having all the cheeseburgers he can, and leaving his stain over at the Rainbow Bridge.

Oh no - more tears again from the Mom's leaky eyes. It really is a sad year for loosing buddies. I wish I had known Joe - he sounded quite the character.

We heard about this last pm over at Benny and Lily's. We loved Joey Stains' attitude. He pretty much had CATattude, and we always admire that in a dog.

We first met Joe here at Mango's place, we can't recall the adventure, but Joey was flying all around propelled by a methane cloud.

Well miss you Joey!

We are also most sad about Mr. JOe Stains. He and Tanner were most accepting of Terrible Teka Toy. For that, I will be forever grateful

How sorry I am to hear about Joe. His was one of the first blogs I followed and it was through him that I came to know you Mango. Joe is a little older than our Panda, so I could relate very much to him, the doofus, and his mom and dad. Thanks for all the memories you reminded us of Mango. Ann TBL

We were so sad to hear about Joe. He was always so funny and we loved reading his blog and really missed him lately since he became ill. He was definitely one of a kind and will be greatly missed. He had so many fun adventures.

I'm sure he is hosting a great party at the bridge now and is happy to see some of his old friends who were there to greet him.

The world has lost another truly Bad Sport. However, I can think of two Bad Sports (TaiChi and Billy - while Billy wasn't officially a Bad Sport, he would have been) who will welcome him across the bridge with lots of devious plans! Still. *sigh* He will definitely be missed.

Thank you for this wonderful tribute to Joe. You guys always had the best adventures and I know that he was truly jealous of your relentlessly hugeness. The Doofus has some big shoes to fill and he is on the lookout for a new brother to terrorize. We are truly so touched by all the love and support we have got and cannot thank you enough.
