This and That by Dexter

Ever notice how the humans claim there are rabbits all over the place when you can't see them? Momma is always shouting at me, "Dexter! Get the rabbit! It's right there!"

Then they will suddenly materialize all hopping about. Where did they come from? Momma says I just can't see them when they are sitting still but I find that hard to believe.

Hey! Remember the turkey? Well it is there ALL THE TIME now. Momma thinks it is a she turkey but how she has surmised this without wrestling the poor creature to the ground and flipping it over to check it's unspeakables I am not certain.

Hmmmm... can you say, "trash day?"

Whatever, it reminds me of the RH. Moving deceptively slowly yet always just out of reach.

In other news, momma signed the final paperwork on her new job at the work place. She says it is a GOOD thing because;
  1. She will work on hardware instead of boring software.
  2. She will learn exciting new things.
  3. Hardware humans are even geekier than the software type so nobody will notice if she wears the same clothes to work two, three times per week (why go to the closet when there is an outfit handy on the floor).
I think it is maybe a BAD thing because;
  1. She will need to get to the work place earlier because apparently these super geeks are early risers.
  2. She will need to bring the work place home with her sometimes and that means less time for ME!
  3. She will be working in a cubicle which she has not done for over 30 years which will be a what you call, emotional adjustment.
Of course since nobody asked me, the deal is done so I am resigned to less Dexter time.

And what of the RH?

Apparently busy competing with momma for the ugly toe nail championship. Ick.

I know you are all anxious about his date, but with momma's mentals being donated to the work place she says it will take some time to process the photos from the big event. Sure, I know what happened, but I'm not telling.

Dexter done!

P.S. Apparently there are still enough mentals to make dorky movies that take advantage of my patience with her photographing that dumb turkey. She now always walks me down the same street to see if that turkey is still there. BORING! Click here to see what I'm talking about.

Hey Dex we have lots of turkeys here and your Mom is right that is a hen or girl turkey. You can tell cause she is just plain and natural colored. The Toms or boy turkeys are beautiful colors, lots of blues and big tails too!

I sure is sorry that your Mom has to go to work. Not so much Dex time is a bad thing. But it will mean more greenies and that equals more treats!

Have a Happy 4th of July!

woos, Tessa

Good luck with the job...and less time with the Dex may make for actually BETTER time with the Dex. : )

Hey Dexter!
Wow, you have your very own turkey!! That's pawesome. They are super fun to bark at, but really hard to chase. If you catch one, I've heard that they flap like the dickens. If you go for it, we want pix!!! BOL

The fact that both of our mothers can comfortably use the phrase 'confidence interval' in a sentence scares me. And confirms the belief that your Mom (and ours) is a Total Geek. And for the record, I think your Mom won the ugly toe nail competition! ;-)

I certainly hope your Mom doesn't put you in a cubicle all day whilest she goes in her same outfit to play geek all day. You will have plenty of time to rest up so as to have lots of energy to present her with each evenin' when she returns.
I would like to enter Mom as a competitor in that ugly nail contest but I think it would be unfair to your Mom and Mango both. She would win without even tryin'.

Woofs and ugly slobbers,
Chester ;0=)

We hope the cubicle and the companionship of supergeeks will not have a detrimental affect on momma's mentals -- which we observe are already finely tuned!!!

Best of luck to momma in her new job. I think Gail would appreciate the dress code....
We're so looking forward to hearing about the date.
Toodle pip!

PS The turkey looks scary. I've only ever seen one on the dinner table.

I laughed pretty hard over that movie! Dexter, you put up with so much! I'm always impressed that your mentals are still intact. I just hope Agent Gobbler stays over there by you!

Dexter, look at the bright side. If she got a new job at the work place with geekier geeks, then she will likely get more money to buy foodables and toys and whatnot. And she will be so much happier to spend time with you! My brother Patrick is in Arizona claiming to learn the Linux stuff so he can get a geek job and impress the ladies. I dunno, it doesn't seem to work on the TV.

Hi Dexter, rabbits and turkeys sounds like fun for you if you would give it a go and chase them. A good thing about Momma's new job is she could paint her toenails whilst hiding in her cubicle and posting new blogs for you. Sounds just right. Hope that turkey is gone by your thanksgiving. No worries, love Carol.

Yep that's a turkey hen. :D Great movie by the way lol.

Congrats on the new job promotion (right?)!! I'm excited for you. I got promoted too. I'm an assistant manager now. :)

In regards to your question on my blog, my husband has all the college credit he needs for his basic coursework so he just has to choose a degree and do that part of it. He's probably going to do something along the lines of Information Technology. He's trying to get a job with the phone company my dad works for, but they won't look at you if you don't have a degree. *rolling my eyes* I'm happy that he gets to finally finish it. :)

PeeeeeS: Dex, we never chase rabbits either! Ducks, maybe, but never rabbits, and they hop all over the place during our hikes.

Very impressive movie y'all! We are mystified as to why you don't chase those stillified rabbits, but we surmise that it is because you are a bird doggeh and not a rab-dog? We were sorry to read that Momma is going to be around a bit less - you will probably benefit from this as you may get more kibs, treats and such - we are crossing paws for you and Mango! Our dad has worked the hardware thing forever - it's not so bad - or so he says! Good luck with the new gig!

Phantom always misses the rabbits because he can't hear so well, but not TD and Ciara. TD has filled his belly way too many times. Ciara alerts him and he chases.

We are surprised there is only one turkey there - we have a pair here that seem inseparable.

Good luck to Mom with the new job, all sounds well except for the cubicle, but just think of all the gossip she will hear.

Sounds like your mom is going to be happier at the work place!
I hope she loves it!
Sorry about the con's!
That turkey! I can see "eat me" signs on her! Ooops!

Wonderful 4th of July banner! And Dex, we're happy to see you are also getting in on the new movie-making feature Mango Momma has acquired, or learned how to use, or whatever. Most impressive.

Good luck to Mango Momma on the new job. Logically, if she goes in earlier, she ought to get off earlier so maybe in winter she'll be home while it's still light and you'll actually get more Momma time. And if she doesn't get home earlier, be sure Momma knows all about the federal and state overtime laws :)

We are also more motion sensitive than we are stationary sensitive when it comes to wildlife, although Abby has a pretty good nose.

Why bother to sex a turkey when you can enjoy it with gravy? Sorry, we are cats and we think with our stomachs :-)

Good luck to the mummy with the new job. We like geeks; they're cat friendly usually and they have nice printers to sit on.

Dex, I'm sure you will adjust to the momma's new schedule. I'm not sure if she will adjust to the cubicle though! Scary!

I love the pic of Mango and Momma's feet! Cute!

We like that your Mom upgraded her job but we don't like the idea of less Dexter time.

We're not sure if the RH would appreciate you comparing his movements to that of a turkey!

The new banner is great!

That turkey wouldn't be looking quite so calm if we were walking down your road Dexter.
