A Curious Trip to the Vet and Prizes

Yesterday momma took me to the vet! No worries here, I always get tons of cuddles and noms there. Sure, why not?

This time it was the man person vet. He's very nice and talks in the most glorious voice. I don't even know what he is saying half the time because his vocals are sort of hypnotic to the Mango.

First thing he wanted to do was check out my bigfoot which, as you can see, is much less big than it used to be. Sure the toes are a little large, but you wouldn't even notice if you weren't looking for it. How cool is that?

But then, this is where it gets strange....

He starts in all rubbing me in weird ways and pinching and poking me and mostly it felt good but sometimes it felt a little peculiar for sure. He even made momma rub and poke at me. Momma said, "Oh, Mango, you are getting there's a puke tick massage and a-choo pressures."

Almost a WTF moment, am I right? And no photos because I guess the vet dude's voice kind of hypnotized momma as well and made her forget the flashy was in her pocket.

Then he gave momma this picture with my name on it and instructions on how to do the there's a puke tick and a-choo on me at home.

You can bigify for sure.

That looks nothing like me! I hope those are the correct instructions.

I got kind of scared when I saw it says hip displace ya, but the vet dude said, "Oh, no, Mango, you do not have the hip displace ya, just the arthritis." Phew.

You know what else? Doggies have things called limp nodes. Yuh, not kidding. Limp nodes all over the place and now momma knows where they all are and how to feel them to see if they swell up or anything (the Mango, being a gentleman, will not share that limp nodes becoming firm and swollen makes him think of something a bit, well, off color, hehehe).

I'm not sure what that was all about, but the good news is that momma is supposed to rub me every single day as prescribed. Wow! That is totally better than taking medicine. Oh yeah!

You know what else? Remember when I won the Against All Odds award in Honey's big Dancing with the Dog Stars competition?

Well, I got a certificate and a medal and this awesome trophy. Yuh, for sure.

Check it out. This is ME showing off how handsome I look with my medal around my large and barely fitting through the ribbon neck. And the wee little trophy.

A proud moment for the Mango. In fact I made a little movie. Watch it here.

Did you see that disco ball spinning? Sadly, I am still not supposed to bounce even though my elephant foot is feeling better. But pretty soon I will be dancing again! You know it!

Mango Man! Oh yeah!

P.S. Remember that bump on my tail? Yeah, well, vet guy said, "if it were anyplace else we would remove it." But then he said because it is right where my tail comes out of my large and not wanting to be sliced open bottom it is not possible to remove it so I will just have to live with it. It doesn't hurt or anything, but it is kind of big and makes momma have worried face, but the good news it is bee nine, whatever that means.

We are glad it is bee nine, that means it is OK. Bee nine is a good word. The a puke tick massage and a-choo pressures sound nice, Fenris hopes Mommy will use the picture you provided to give him one. We thinks cats should get a puke tick massage and a-choo pressures too, so we are going to google it to see if we can find a picture for a cat.

Nice vet to be teaching your Momma how to make you feel better. When Momma gets the technique down well, you will have to have her do a video for us so all the Moms and Dads out there can learn it too. Never know when we might need it.

So very glad to see your foot is better and big congrats again on your win. Love that disco ball trophy.

Wowza, you had a big day didn't you.

I love my vet, he has one of those hypnotizing voices too, but he don't do that special rub down.

It sounds kinda nice. Maybe My Vickie will learn somethin from the picture or like OP pack suggested, you could do a video.

I am so glad your tail is better and I would love to see your tropy ball doing its thing in a video too. You know, if you get the time.

And I am glad your Bee Nine. What ever that is.

Well, getting a rub down every day sounds good to us, but a couple of those things on the chart don't sound so good like ST 40 Abundant Bulge. That sounds insulting. And what's with GB29 Squatting Crevice? We don't want anyone messing with our squatting crevices. Better keep your eye on those magic fingers.

Hi Uncle Mango. I'm soooo glad you are better. No more bigfoot jokes, thankgoodness. There were lots of words on the Vet list that definitely described you. Mum read it to me and I heard "Big, middle and, abundant". Your Vet knows you well. Also I loved your award and mirror ball. Mum said it brought back memories of dis goes. She is pretty old. We are all happy that my Uncle Mango is well. Hurray!!! No worries, and LOVE, Stella

Hey Big Dude - so glad the foot is not so swollen - we were getting worried over reports of a hunting party being sent to capture big foot - and we instantly thought of you!!!

That is one awesome wee trophy and medal you got - and very well deserved I think!

Well, massage doesn't sound too bad to me, especially if it leads to a dreamlike state! I'm glad you're on the mend!

Oh, your disco ball is a little hypnotic, too!

Glad your elephant foot is recovering. It's just no fun to spend lots of time hanging around at the vet. Tell your Momma you need those vitamins my Momma feeds me. They help with the Arthur-itis.

Yeah!!! Mango Man is all better. That is the bestest news!

Massage sounds wonderful. I'm going to tell Mom to read the book and watch the Dvd so I can finally get my long overdue yet promised massages. Mango do you think your momma would massage me too?

Mango sounds like you are getting the same kind of bumps that have plagued me. I wonder if it's a big dog thing. I had one on buttock and people kept thinking I had poo stuck to if that would ever happen ;) Now I have them everywhere tail, legs, foot. They are relentless pesky boogers I even gots one on my beautiful head. Can you believe Dad says it's my goat horn, Please. Who is he calling an old goat?

Can't wait to see you bouncing around again. Your spinny disco ball is adorable. That medal looks very dashing on you. Congratulations you are awesome!

There is some form of oriental massage that involves ladies walking all over the massage recipient's back and using their weight to help give a super deep massage. Maybe the Pea could be trained to walk all over you and supplement your Mango Momma massage? OK, probably not.

Anyway, we are most happy to read and see that you are feeling and looking better. We're sure the daily massage is going to help your physical condition and soothe your mentals, what with all that one-on-one attention from Mango Momma. Just listening to Pea whine with jealousy on the other side of the door during your massage will no doubt enhance the experience considerably.

We're glad your dance awards from Honey's DWTDS contest provided a lift to your spirits and helped remind you what an awesome dancer you are. We can't wait until you can resume your dancing.

Jed & Abby

Geesh sure handle these mishaps with aplomb! You are an inspiration to all of us - that quiet sense of hu-manure(Humour, I think the peeps call it)...
But I think it has a lot to do with your Momma's special gift with handling these things so graciously.
Sending lotsaluv and hoping you will feel more and more better by the day.

Goodness Mango you've been through the ringer lately! :( Wonderful news though that it's all minor stuff and oh darn requires daily massages ;D

Oh Mango, this is wonderful news about your Elephant Foot and your Bee Nine bump. I think I need some of those massages for my arfritis. I was most worried about you when we had burpday cake yesterday and our ape informed us that it had MANGO on top! And I thought--he just has a swollen leg! We do not have to eat him! but then I ate it because I knew that is what you would have wanted. So what was that on our cake? Does it have to do with the swelling, firm limp nodes?

Gosh Mango, I got on reader just now (I wont mention how many I has to read through!!) and I thought the next post might be about you joining the circus with the huge elephant foot. Glad to see it has gone down and the massage and stuff sounds nice. I would be careful that it all above brow though, you never know with these peoples what they is tricking us into. Auntie Penny gets the arthritus and she gets something called glucosamine in her dinners, maybe she missing out on extra massages.
Keep getting better, it sounds like a scary time for you and Momma and Dada too!

Be nine? A choo? Honestly, Mango, I have looked up all these medical terms in my nursing textbooks, but alas, I have no IDEA what the heck you are talking about. I had a much better idea about what you were thinking about when you described the limp er lymph nodes, but it might be unseemly of me to mention it further. As for that lump on your tailie-po?? They said it's not possible to remove?

I will be glad to A COMEON A DATE.

You? Off color comments? Naw. We find that hard to believe.. Pretty nifty work about getting your Mom to rub you all the time (although we're with you - that picture SO does not look like you, we hope your Mom can translate it into a Mango-map...). And Arthur-itis (which, I'm told, is an allergy to people named Arthur) isn't so bad. I mean, how many people named Arthur do you actually know?

Nice medal and trophy and stuff, too. BTW, when Mom was walking the Greater Swiss Mounted Doggie at Abby's class yesterday, she commented on the size of the gal's 'caboose' and then wondered how much larger your extra 100 lbs must make you... (I'm thinking that walking the full-figured gal didn't require many mentals on Mom's part and thus the contemplation of cabooses...)

Well... CONGRATULATIONS again, on your win and those are really great prizes, and we are so glad your foot is doing so much better!

One of our cousins (Auntie Naunie's dog, Daisy) has a big bump like that on her tail. Looks kind of funny but doesn't seem to bug her. Does that mean that NINE bee's stung you there?! THAT would leave a BIG bump!

Grammy is going to bigify that picture and see if it says how to massage a dog so she can see if that would help Grandma OC. The Country Corgi Crew

Silly Mango! Don't you know you're supposed to shine a light on your spinny disco ball at night to make pretty lights dance around. :D

I'm glad your bump is bee nine and that you don't have to take any new meds. Don't worry about the instructions. Us doggies all look different on the outside, but I think we look alike on the inside. Well mostly. :D
