ME and Raja the Amazing Soccer Dog

Look! Look! Look! It's ME! That's right, momma got me a painting of ME made by none other than Miss Asta's Mommi.

Momma has long admired Asta Mommi's paintings which you can see for yourself here. Momma always told me that when I crossed over the Rainbow Bridge she would get my portrait done, but I said, "why wait?" Yuh, am I right?

So, see, isn't it great? It is me on my Observation Deck waiting form Momma to come home from work. I know when it is time and Master always lets me out unless Master says that it is too hot or too cold for me to be outside. Sometimes I even wait when it is snowing or raining and won't come in even when Master tells me to because being on guard for Momma is just too important for me to be bothered by a meteorological event.

And now... on to Beautiful Raja!

This is the photo compilation that we made of Beautiful Raja. Look! It has baby me in it and even some pictures of baby Raja!

Check out that slobber around the snooter. Sigh, Raja was just talented in every way.

This is my teenage self admiring her loveliness.

Now, I will tell you something. Raja was most skilled at dribbling a ball. She was completely self taught and it was her most favorite thing to do in the whole world. I tried to learn, but I was never very good at it (maybe some day if the lazy DOH bothers to load my teenage movies you will get to see).

Raja suffered from bad sickies and she knew her time with us was short. She told me, "Baby Mango, on the day I cannot play with my soccer ball, it will be time to say goodbye." That day came all too soon for me, but I am happy knowing that she never suffered.

Since soccer is a total action activity, there are no still photos, but for those of you who have the fast connections, prepare yourselves for an amazing sight that you can watch here.

Mango Man! Oh yeah!

Mango, Auntie Ami really is the best isn't she? Your pawtrait is magnificent. We hope it has pride of place on the wall!

Raja's dribbling skills were indeed excellent; not only with the ball but also the dribble hanging from her chops was amazing.

Mango, we have long admired the paintings by Asta's Mommi. In fact we in this household think she is a genius. And we are so glad that you persuaded MangoMomma to commission such an incredibly fine portrait for you to admire to while you are still full of life and slobber. Oh I wish I could persuade Gail to ask if I could have my portrait done by Asta's Mommi too...

I like the soccer video of Raja - she was so great. When she kicked the ball it went nice and straight! I also like how there was a picture of her with the ball in the photo collage. It's a very nice tribute.

It's hard to do the Mango justice, but she did a great job of it! I love her use of mango orange colors in the painting. Raja looks like a total sweetheart. I understand Mango's adoration.

A wonderful portrait. Asta mom is an artist!
I think it's good that you can see the image for your lifetime and see where it gets a place of honor ..
The video I found fantastic. I've never seen a dog that can handle the ball so cool. A real dribble.

That is truely an awesome painting of you and I am glad your Mom didn't wait till you crossed the rainbow bridge before getting it done (Your mom should attach a little bit of Mango hair to the painting - that way you will always be with her) Asta's Mom is so talented.

Mango, that is such a beautiful painting of you - and it is so lifelike - that's what we like best about it. Asta's mom is so talented.

Raja would have been a great addition to our Sporting KC soccer team, they could use a great ball handler.

Asta's mommy is most talented. Your momma was right to not wait to get a portrait of you. And it's nice that you wait on the deck for Momma. After all, doesn't she enjoy knowing she was missed, even if it is raining or snowing?

Mango that's a beautiful painting. You are such a talented dude - dancer, movie star, model...what else will you surprise us with?

Raja sure could work that ball all around the yard. Amazing. I remember those days now a few kicks around the yard and I'm ready to bask in the sunshine and solicit tummy rubs.
