A Big Birthday and the Mystery of the Dining Room Table

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!
Before I start, I want to wish the beautiful Miss Lilac happy sweet 16th birthday!
What a remarkable gal. Visit her here to send your good wishes.

The naming of the dining room table remains a mystery to the Mango. For sure I have only ever seen actual foodables served on it during big holidays.

Most of the time, it is a repository for an odd assortment of this and that.

Take, for example, this recent photo showing Momma and Master's hats (always at hand lest they get actual sunlight on their aging skins), idiot PeeWee's harness and flexi-leash, and the odd dismembered hand.

Mind you that with the exception of the very occasional fine restaurant dining with real live other human beings, my momma never, never, never eats dinner. Of course if her jolly bottom is any indication, she consumes plenty during the daylight hours.

Master? He's a Trader Joe's microwave foodables kind of guy.

So what's on your "dining" room table? Put a photo on your blog and let the world know!

Oh yeah, here is a random photo of my large and having deep thoughts at all times self (actually, I am gazing at the totally hot alien border collie gal next door and getting that tingly feeling in my nards ....)

Mango Man! Oh yeah!

We rarely eat in our dining room either, Mango. Mom has a project going and we have felt squares and funny looking buttons on our table.

Love ya lots,

Hi Uncle Mango, our dining room table is full of mess too and also our little table near the kitchen. Its even worse today cause mum cleaned out the bookcase and piled all the old books on it to take to the Op Shop later (whenever that will be). P.S. I asked mum what tingly nards were and she said they were nards that tingled. I still don't know what the heck they are. Oh well, no worries, and love, Stella and Rory

Our dining table is perfect for me to lean my head upon and get a good slobbering view of what the humans are stuffing their faces with...

Our dining room table holds dust and a few stray sibe furs - it is rarely ever used for meals - something about it being cozier in the kitchen dining area. Of course the white fancy cushions on the chairs and six little grandbipeds might have something to do with it too:)

The human pups in our family grew up thinking that the sewing machine belonged on the dining room table - and guess what, it's there right now. Some things never change.

Mango....I use our dining room table as a chew toy. I will be sure to post a picture of our table tonight! Drool some for me over the neighbor dog :-)

ANY flat surface in this house, dining table included, is instantly covered in papers and books of all descriptions. Gail does actually eat her meals at the dining table too, for example, her breakfast cereal balanced precariously on the pile of New Scientists and Guardian newspapers, while she dribbles coffee on the MacBook as she reads your blogs...
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
PS We like the hats.

HAHA I love this. OUr dining room table is the kitchen table you could say since we dont have a formal dining room :) We do however eat dinner every night at the table :) we are old school and the TV even gets turned off during dinner!!!

Now on the other end of the table you can find cell phones, my purse, laptop and flowers :) I will take a picture and get it posted tomorrow!

I am CONVINCED that a dining room is a total waste of square footage. We practically NEVER eat there. We eat in the kitchen, on the deck, in front of the TV, all the while a gorgeous Century dining room set lies lonely and unused.... looks pretty... I remember my late Aunt Bette finally decided to turn her formal dining room into a TV room. Was wonderful!

Mum says it is lovely to know that other people's dining room tables are catch-alls too. It is still our favorite place to drag stuff off of.

Looking thoughtful there big guy. Must be nice to have nards...

Our dining room table is in the kitchen. It's covered in mail that our dad doesn't throw away. Fortunately it makes an excellent dog-den/observation area for cooking snoopervision. We'll post a photo!

Oh, Mango, the dismembered hand is one that requires careful contemplation.

Great picture of you, dude. You are one handsome chap. The border collie gal probably wants to get to know you a lot better.

The humans eat at our table sometimes when they aren't eating out or balancing plates on their laps in the living room. Our table is often covered with books or mail or sewing projects or a jigsaw puzzle. We try to eat as many puzzle pieces as possible to confuse the humans .

Dust. You really wanna see a pic of our dust? Oh, there's other stuff on it too, nuthin' worthy of mention, but the main focus is the thick layer of dust. No papers because well, I happen to like to shred anythin' and am not particular about what I shred. I love it when one of my PUs forget that little hobby of mine! Joy! Joy! Joy! and a happy skip!!!

Woofs and dusty slobbers,
Chester ;0=)

We are with most the other, there is plenty of dust, finger prints erk - hate having a glass table, the is even some dog nose wipes on the underneath the glass - hard for the Mom to reach. And we have a great big plant in the middle of the table - we will get a picture tomorrow.

Yea, my Mom is kinda like Berties', Mom puts everything on any flat surface. We don't have a dining table becasue it was in the way of Moms wheelchair cause our house is just too small. But I like it lots!

My daddies eat dinner at the table, and I sit on my bed nearby making sure they aren't doing anything naughty :)

Currently on my table is a dismembered gnome! :D

Mango, Lilac sends many thanks to you for the birthday wishes! She has had one amazing day, and I think it's worn her out.

Why is there a disembodied hand on your table?

Hi Mango, I finally got to post a picture of my dining room table. I know it's all late and there's not much going on in my photo. Butt wanted to let you know I posted the picture. My mommy is so late in helping me read blog posts lately.
