Recently, Master installed railings around my Observation Deck.
This was in response to Momma's constant worry regarding my fondness for positioning my large and resting wherever self thrillingly close to the edge.
Sure, I will grant you that between my big, but less big front leggie and the occassional twinge from my rear quarters I sometimes execute a slippy slidely reverse move when assuming an upright position.
However, in all the time I have lived at the estate, I have never ever ever taken a tumble.
But, well, you know how humans can be. Note that the lower rail is positioned low enough to prevent back slide and yet high enough to (hopefully) facilitate painless snow removal.
Ladies, also note that I am totally nekked in this photo. Oh hurt me!
Alert readers know that the Pea has always scorned the stairs, opting instead to levitate on and off the edge of the deck.
Seems old habits are hard to break and he tried that move a few times after the railings went up. The result? You guessed it.
BAM! SPLAT! Hehehe.
Which I thought, would make a great post and thus ensued the following conversation.
Me: Hey, Momma, go get the flashy and we can make a video of the labradoink smashing into the fence.
Momma: No, Mango, I am not going to do that.
Me: Why not? It is great entertainment.
Momma: Because Dexter could get hurt, you wouldn't want that, would you?
Me: He won't get hurt. He is made of rubber. Besides, you always laugh when he does it.
Momma: I do not laugh.
Me: Yes you do.
Momma: Do not.
Me: Do too.
You can see how quickly conversations with the DOH deteriorate into meaningless exchanges.
Aw, look at the little guy. Guess he'll have to use the stairs like a normal dog.
As for me, well, I'm just glad the rails aren't all fancy lest they detract from my handsomeness.
Mango Man! Oh yeah!
P.S. We've been doing a lot of the reading without commenting lately. Just the way things go sometimes. You know humans and their busy brains. But you know what? I really look forward to reading your posts even when idiot momma says, "no time to comment!" so I'm good with my pals who do the same with my bloggy too. We're all in this together.
