SNOW and Attack Labradoink

Many of you might have heard that we had snow right here in Master Chew Sits on Saturday night. Now while some of you live near the north pole and are accustomed to the big snow even before Halloween, it is quite unusual for us.

Momma and Master were going to take Grandma and Grandpa out on a big adventure Saturday, but I told them, "Oh no! Please do not go out all driving around on the dreaded Rt. 128 and into the wild uncharted territory of Concord Master Chew Sits during the big storm."

Well, momma agreed with me, but she had quite the time convincing Grandpa because he lives east of our estate where there was not much snow at all. So momma made us go outside and sit our bottoms in the cold, wet stuff so she could take a photo and prove to him that there really was one of those Nor Eaters going on.

Brrr... my nards!

We lost our electricals for totally almost 8 hours (and listen, those of you who heard it was only 6 from momma can ignore that because in my book 11PM to 7AM is 8 hours, but that's just me).

Lots of trees and stuff fell down. CRASH! BAM! The poor trees were still trying to show off their fall colors and the snow on their leaves made it too hard for them to hold up their arms. Just look at this tree right across the street from our estate. That branch used to be all high in the air, but now it is on the ground!

We did have some branches down at the Mango estate and I set to cleanup duty.

Excuse the blurry photo, but when the Mango is working, the Mango moves with alarming speed.

I took a most civilized stroll up and down our street to scope out the damage, but then Momma said to Pea, "Oh Dexter, let's go for a nice long walkie."

One does worry with momma all walking out where she might run in to who knows what miscreant with only the wee little labradork to protect her.

So imagine my relief when she showed me this actual video of the midget protecting her from a most threatening totally like undead bite your head off scarecrow.

Did you hear him all barking and growling? Who knew he had it in him? Go little dude!

My momma being, well, herself, of course she constructed the requisite creepy snowmanpersons.

You know what else? I made a little movie for you to watch, but since it is wide screen, you need to watch it on the YouTube. Just click here.

Mango Man! Oh yeah!

Way to go Dex, you show that evil scarecrow who the dog!

Kudos, Pea!! We're sending you an Honorary Rottie Award for demonstrating mastery over growly, protective of the momma behavior! Good job!! And, Mango, we loved your movie! It was very exciting to see romping and snow zooming while we enjoy temps in the 80's! Hope it melts fast and the poor trees get a chance to drop their leaves before the next time!!

Loved your movie. The drama, the action, the cheering! It's a good thing that they haven't chosen the pictures for the Oscars yet.

Those are some super moves, guys. We don't have any snow so it's fun to see you enjoying it. Too bad about those trees.

Dexter was totally ferocious out there with that scarecrow! I'm impressed! He was like the flash out there running in the snow, too! That Labrador has mad skillz!

I am glad the snow was out near you and not here. *shiver* I don't want to think about snow until after Thanksgiving!

Our snow isn't usually wet enough for Mom to make creepy snowpeople (yes, we are thankful for the small things in life). And yeah, your Mom is totally safe from scarecrows with that labradoink at her side. He's super scary! Heehee. All that aside, we're jealous of your snow. Our lack of snow, however, has given Mom a little longer to rake the leaves and fertilize the lawn (she's such a wait-til-the-last-minute yard worker!). Now we're ready for it to snow in earnest! (Actually, we'd like it to snow in Park City. Earnest - wherever that is - can ask for their own snow!)

Up to your Nards, wherever you go.

Glad you got your electricals back after 87 hours.

Oh Dexter. You and Skye are right on the same level. Today she did her best to scare away a little frozen snow person. Now, for a more serious question- how much do you charge for branch removal Mango? Parker and Skye only move them around the yard, but we need a big strong guy to help us out. We have meaty bones!

Au and Target said...

We love your videos! They're pawsome. And that bark, well, it sounds like wolves. Our tails are standing up all fluffy. Keep warm, you two.

Do you know how jealous we are of you doing all that running and zoomies there in your glorious snow? We are glad you got your electricals back, but we hear lots of peeps will be powerless for days - MA sure has taken a hit this year.

Now do tell - why do your snowmen have bucket-shaped heads? BOL

Dexter - you can protect me from scarecrows any day.

Mango - you are a good helper and fearless snowman-destroyer.

And Mama - all of those flashing lights and jiggly camera work almost caused me to have a fit!

Clover & Cosmo sat inside and watched the frozen rain and then snow, but none of ours stuck around. Thank goodness!

Man on man! I've heard of that snow stuff, but I've never actually experienced it. I just thought it was cold here in Texas, in the 50's. Glad you guys didn't freeze with no electricals. Way to stir up some flurries with your wild snow zoomies! Enjoy and stay warm.

Good Job Dexter! We are happy to know your momma will be safe on the walkies.

Wow, Oh my Gosh, Dexter, you are the Master Zoomer!!! I had to keep replaying it because I blinked and missed you.

Yeah, Mango you decapitated the creepy snowpeople. It's best you get them before they get you. You had me a laugh'n.

Uh oh! Mango... you've taught Dexter defend so well that maybe your services will no longer be required - you'd better come up with a plan.

By the way, that white stuff looks cold. Brrrr. We have to make our own by evicerating cushions.

You look much better than the two miserable look snowmen! Did you leave any of your messages to them?

Little Dex finally knows he is a LAB at last! Way to go, Dex!

Howdy Uncle Mango, Rory here. Gawd blimey. I had to take over cause Stella got all stupid and fluttery when Dexter was showing his tough boy stance. How embarrassing.

I thought your speed through the snow was much more impressive. You are an inspiration that one day, I too might race around the yard with your agility. Hope your Momma and Master get to visit with your Grandma and Grandpa soon. No worries, with slobbers, Rory.

Wow! We are impressed by all that snow. I mean, I live so much closer to the North Pole and the temperature is nowhere near freezing here.
And well done Dexter for not being scared by that totally scary scarecrow. All that barking, that told him, I'm quite sure.

Your Mum has some serious holiday issues going on with the snowmen on Halloween. She couldn't even use a carrot for a nose to get some orange going on? Take care of your nards, you freeze'em too many times and they fall off. Cooper told me that.

Love, Dozer and Cooper

That is some crazy snow excitement! Too early for snow...poor trees. Well, I guess the trick or treaters will have to rework their costumes to account for the snow. But a princess in snow boots just doesn't work all that well ;)

Yikes! Snow that early, hope it melts quickly and you can continue to enjoy the rest of your Fall.

'Scuse me, Auntie Mango Momma...but didn't you hurt your back constructing those snow dudes last winter? And you are continuing this risk taking behavior??? Hmm...

I have a warm fox terrier wrap in my suitcase. It's a bit smelly, but should help those sore muscles.

Now, I'm thanking Mango and Dexter for the kind invitation to visit. I see the GAME wasn't mentioned on today's post, but we'll just forget that happened and I will totally enjoy my vacation. Oh, I'd like two poached eggies, 1 slice of toast and my ususal fresh squeezed in the morning...and not before 9 am...thank you....

I saw Dexter barking and growling for the first time!! His way of barking at a suspicious object is just like Mint's, but Mint barks more often, especially when he sees our neighbour's kitten.

Lassiter Chase and Benjamin said...

Wow that scarecrow was so scared from Dexter's barking and growling it couldn't even move! Way to go Dexter! Of course I love the snowmen people and how you always knock off their heads! Way to go Bubba!

That dork peewee thinks he's tough. Do that to Tula and we'll see!

Moose said...

Wow pea! Most impressive and ferocious protecting! Just because that suspicious character did not look scared doesn't mean you were not scary! You and momma stayed safe and that is all that matters!
