Miss Mayzie's Rescue Me Week

Hey friends, guess what?

Miss Mayzie is doing a really cool thing. In honor of her beloved Grandpa J, she is hostessing a Rescue Me week.

That's right. All this week, she is asking us lucky dogs and kitties with furever homes to post about a less fortunate furry. Plus there will be five lucky winners who will get $100 donated to their favorite rescue! How cool is that?

Now not too far from the Mango Estate is a place called Nevins Farm where they keep not only doggie and kittie orphans, but also cows, horses, donkeys, chickens, and all sorts of other nice furries just itching to find a good home.

Since Momma has always liked goats, I thought that I, Mango would feature a handsome goat named Pops, shown here with his buddies.

You can read about him here or visit the farm adoption site here.

And if you want to participate, just be sure to check out the rules on Miss Mayzie's blog.

Who knows, maybe all our hard work will get at least one more little orphan a furever home.

Mango Man! Oh yeah!

Our peeps love goats, too! Dad is always wanting some. He thinks they would be a big help keeping the grass cut. BOL! Mom is afraid we will chase them or that we'll get kicked. She says she can only handle TWO SPECIES - DAD and US! BOL!

Pops is adorable and we hope he gets a forever home soon - hopefully with lots of grass!

We used to have goat next-door-neighbors! They were great neighbors and made really cute little noises! Good luck to Pops!!

My grandmother bought a goat for a friend for his 60th birthday. The guy taught plumbing at a community college, and as soon as Arnold (the goat) learned to control himself indoors, he went along to control the students. So, Mango, be sure Momma doesn't try to replace you and Pea with a goat!

We like goats, too. Mom says she knows a bunny that needs a new home so she's going to write about him.

Mango and Dexter, thanks for bringing this to our attention. We had no idea that Goats can become homeless like all the dogs/cats. It was cool that you were able to highlight these goats. We think it would be fun to have a goat in the yard, but Mom says they really do eat everything in sight. Sniffs, The HoundDogs

We hope Pops and his whole herd get adopted together, as goats really like to live in herds. Mama always wanted a pig. Or an elephant.

Hi Mango!!

We're so happy you posted about POPS. Mommy grew up with goats when she was a tiny child, like 100years ago.

What a great week this is already and we're praying every animal finds their forever home.

We did a post yesterday about Barron, one of Shelby's pup who is at Brazoria County Humane Society and today one for DROH. Theer are just so many to read and not near enough time.

We've missed you guys.

The purrfect world is one that every furrie that needs a furever home would find one. This is something I wish and purr for each and every day.
Pops really looks like a nice goat. So glad you told me he was a goat cause I thought he was a new breed of doggie.

I think Miss Mayzie is doing a wonderful thing. Many doggies become homeless, not only because of domestic reasons but also as a result of natural disasters. Every time I read about them, I am reminded how lucky we are.

Most terrier lovers adore goats...not that I look (or smell) like a goat in any size shape or form....

And what's this about that hat looking like my butt...on Maggie and Mitch's bloggie??? I read that Mango...not much gets past the Lacie.

How's your shower time going???

You are so sweet to do this!! I'm gonna check out Mayzie's blog too. All my pups were rescued! ;-) (Don't tell them but I like to say that I simply gave them a home. It was my girls that rescued ME!)
