Abandonment and Presents

So yesterday, momma and master left together to go to work (or so I assumed) but then it got to be dark and night time and momma did not come home! Yuh, like totally Master gave me my phenobarbital which NEVER happens and then it got later and later and pretty soon it was bed time and I went to sleep even though I was all thinking "where the heck is momma?"

Then this morning it was time to get up for sure and I paced around but NOBODY GOT UP! And then finally at (can you believe it) 7AM! Master came all stumbling out of the sleeping room and fed me and Pea. Where is Momma? I wondered?

Well, she came home at last this afternoon. So I had words with her, you know it!

Me: "Momma WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?"

Momma: "Oh, Mango, I had to go to the emergency room because I had a bad owie in my chest."

Me: "What are you talking about? You seem fine to me."

Momma: "Well, Mango, I feel fine, but the doctors and nurses and Master were very worried and so they wanted me to have a sleepover at the hospital."

Me: "As if! What did you do there?"

Momma: "I got on the treadmill and..."

Me: "Was it underwater like my treadmill? Did you get noms while you did it? Did you get a massage after?"

Momma: "Well, not exactly, but they did give me some crackers."

Me: "Next time, you just tell PT lady you want to share my treadmill time. No more overnight excursions."

Momma: "You got it, big guy."

So Momma says she is fine and all the activities she did at the hospital were "negative" which doesn't sound good to me, but go figure, right?

And I'm not too bothered, you know, because when she came home we opened some pressies.

Yup, like these two cool Airedale books from our buddy Taffy. Loyal readers know that momma is gaga for Airedales and I do kind of miss my old Grandpa Angus sometimes.

And from Bolo we got a flat blue thing called a Frisbee (which looks like it will be good to eat) and a tiny little tennis ball for Pea.

Plus a note pad with Bolo's face on it! How cool is that?

And you know what else? Tomorrow I am going to do MY treadmill and I am going to ask if momma can do it with me since she is so keen on it and I might even let her have some of my special treadmill hot dogs.

Mango Man! Oh yeah!

Mango, you must have been so scared without your Mommy. I would have freaked out as I am a Momma's girl. I am glad she came back and that you got cool pressies.

Mango Momma, we are so sorry that you had a bad night and also so glad that you are ok. I hope they find out what made you have ouchies and fix it. Maybe you need to eat more lettuce(joking cause I don't think you like lettuce, giggles). Maybe you need to stay home with Mango and Dexter more, there is nothing like a loving doggy to heal what ails you.

Mango dude, you have been gone so long. I missed your little nose. I am glad to hear that your human is mostly all right.

Those are some pretty cool pressies too. My Vickie loves the head light you sent, she goes outside at night, just to wear it.

Maybe the stress of Mango Minster finally caught up to your momma and that is what put her in the hospital. I hope she feels better and doesn't have any more chest pains.

I hope you are alright Mango Momma. And you know, the big fella is right - never get on a treadmill unless there are treats and massages involved. Crackers don't count, by the way. :)

Oh my goodness, Mango - that sounds really scary about your Momma!! We hope she's OK. Hsin-Yi is something called a "hypochondriac" and she got really worried reading about you & your Momma's conversation! I'm glad the tests all came out negative but I hope they can give her some answers for why she got the chest ouchie - and how to stop getting it again!

Anyway, I'm sure you will take good care of her and it's a good idea of sharing your treadmill with her.

Oh I just can't wait to see some photos of you and Momma in the treadmill together.
Meanwhile, you make sure she looks after herself. We don't want to hear about any more nights in the hospital and away from Mango.

Oh my dog, Uncle Mango, we're so glad to hear your Momma is back home where she belongs. That must have been scarey for everybuddy. At least the Master took good care of you, even if he was a bit slovenly with getting up in the morning.

If Momma shares your treadmill, will her legs go all funny on the sides too? Please look after her and make sure she rests and gets heaps of treats. Sending hugs and more healing slobber. No worries, and LOVE, Stella and Rory

Mango - I looked back on your posts and recently your momma said they were going to clear the deck.

Did this cause any extra strain or did momma pull a muscle?

I get pleurisy easily and it always hurts in my chest, hopefully the doc took chest x-rays and ruled that out.

Love reading your posts, keep us informed but only if you feel like it. Momma may just need you to sit there and wash her paws for her.

Mango Mamma, take it easy.... rest, relax and get better !! Sorry to hear of your overnighter, but glad to hear all tests were negative, at least.

Yeah for pressies for the big guy and the labradude. :)

I hope you had a nice little vacay while you were away at the hospital. Sometimes, that's the only way to get some R&R and more importantly, get waited on hand and foot! Keep us posted, and keep healthy!

We're glad you momma's sleepover went well, but I would take the treadmill with the hot dogs over the one with the crackers any old time.

Nice loot you got from your friends!

I'd like to officially invite you & Pea to be featured on my blog at www.PetBlogsUnited.com. It's a great way to meet new blogging friends. If you're interested you can drop me a line at PBU at comcast dot net.

Your poor mama! It sounds like we've finally found someone who's had a worse weekend than my mom, and it's been pretty bad here. I hope you're taking good care of her! At least she's home and you won't have to deal without her for a while. I'm sorry that her treadmill experience was not nearly as nifty as yours!
