Show us your Fur!

Every time I try to run this post I hear something bad about one of my pals. After hearing about Tsar's passing yesterday I was scared to put this post up again, but momma convinced me to try. And to get rid of all the bad mojo this post has, I am going to start by giving you some good news!

My little friend, Ernie, is recovering well from his recent surgery.
Dave is up and around again after having problems with his back.
And Miss Sunshade, Super Dale, is slowly, but surely regaining her strength.

And now, here's my post at last!

In the springtime, momma helps me to donate my furs to the busy birdies who are building nests. I'm not bothered. I am happy to help and that furminator feels most stimulating.

Admittedly, most of my furs I lay down on the floor of the estate interior. It makes the place smell good and creates soft tumbleweeds against the walls that provides extra padding should I take a tumble.

But I am a modest shedder for my size. Certainly nothing like the Pea who manages to leave enough of himself rolling and tumbling about to knit a sweater.

It makes momma most grouchy and the other day, she collected the deposits that the suck machine pulled. She said, "Dammit! This is only from one week and I didn't even go under the furniture. I am going to have to vacuum more often which means less time for YOU!"

Friends, readers, and fellow shedding monsters, I challenge you to show us your furs. How often does your human run the suck machine around the house? Does it make you mental fits like Pea?

Or do you lay there trying to make it go away like me?

And how much of you actually is on the floors and carpets? The Mango wants to know!

Mango Man! Oh yeah!

As scotties, we don't shed (much) but we were groomed today and we have enough for another scottie.

Roxy, on the other paw, leaves LOADS of white hairs on our dark furniture. We had to get a special turbo attachment for Vacula to get it up.

XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy

You're going to have some comfortable beds for baby birds this Spring.

Howdy Uncle Mango, thank goodness we aren't scared by the vacula machine cause mum has to suck up our hair all the time. Note we said has to. It cause of the little peeps that come to stay while their mums work. Mum can't let them go home covered with our hair although we don't know why not.

The main thing mum complains about is how stinky the vacula machine gets with all our hair. Huh. Smells pretty good to us.

We'll show you our furs that are sucked up. Hey, maybe our peeps could make us all pillows filled with old hair. Mmmm. Comfy.

See ya Uncle Mango dude. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

My mom doesn't vacuum often because the sound of the vacuum monster makes both me AND DAD go nuts. But Dad doesn't bark at it or try to attack it like I do. So my fur collects and occasionally mom sweeps and even less occasionally she vacuums. Housekeeping is obviously not one of her strong points.

Last weekend mom brushed me with the furminator and made a HUGE pile. I thought we could make me a baby brother or sister with it! I shed like crazy and mom would like someone to invent a car fueled by puppy hair.

Funny, my boy dogs are all afraid of the vacuum and none of my girls are. Wonder what that means.

Dad's been cutting hair lately and we have a huge bag of it. Mom usually trims us on the porch so the birds can come and get it.

You don't have to post this, just wanted to ask about the comment you left on my Haflinger and Wagon post. Three what in a row? Ponies? There is only two? The shadows play tricks, but for sure it was only two hehe. There are hitches that put three abreast though like this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlAdiHBWbiM :D

Oh Mango - Our mom doesn't even want to think about how much furs of ours she has to suck up daily... so she only does it every third day or so. Well... we are out gallavanting and playing and that apparently requires their time, sigh. BTW, mom's chin looks like yours, Mango. Maybe we could suck that one up heh heh!

Mango, our mom gave up long ago trying to get rid of all our furs on stuff. Now she puts blankets and comfy pads on the furniture thinking we'll lay on those and not on the furniture. Boy, is she wrong! We still get our furs all over the furniture!!

And Mango, we cannot believe you sit that close to the rug sucking monster. When we see it coming, we run for cover! Yeah, for the most part we're pretty brave cats...it's just the sucking monster that scares the bee-jee-sus out of us!!

Mango, Thank you for sharing some good news, that makes me happy. My Mommy runs that machine about a couple times a week or month, I get it mixed up. I do not shed as I have different furs than you and Dexter. My Mom and Sister shed like crazy and I think that is what she has to suck up. When Mommy does it, I am fine with it and pretty much ignore it unless she gets near a toy. My Sister teases me with it and chases me and then I go nuts and attack it.If someone chased after you and tried to suck your fur, right off your body, you might think about chasing it too I bet, so I am kind of like both of you depending on who is using

I don't run the suck machine nearly enough... and I'm too embarrassed to show you Mabel's furs! She runs and hides from the suck machine!

We're relieved you could finally get your post up without more disasterous pre-emptions.

Mama has a very laissez faire attitude towards cleaning, so there is usually a goodly supply of soft furballs lying about the house, ready to cushion any unfortunate falls. It actually saves mama the expense of having to pay for wall to wall carpeting.

Hi Mango - I'm FINALLY catching up with my blog friends! We've been reading through all your posts that we've missed, although Hsin-Yi says we can't comment on every post otherwise we'll NEVER get up to date - but I just had to comment on this one coz your face in the last picture with the vacuum monster! We generally hide in another room when the Evil Vacuum Machine is on the loose. Luckily Mom is a bit of a slob (SHE says with work, she doesn't have time to keep the house as neat as she'd like... uh-huh....), so the Evil Thing doesn't come out too often. And since we are (ostensibly) non-shedders, Mom only has furs to knit when we go to the groomer.
