Adventure Walkies

I'll be honest. When it comes to walkie routes, "adventure" is not the first word one would apply to yours truly. Why? Well, because like momma and the RH, I am inclined to enjoy revisiting the same places over and over and over and.... well, you get my drift.

But every now and then, I, Dexter, do enjoy a bit of an adventure and I was excited to see that my usual walking route was about to become very exciting.

Do you think you can handle this, momma?

Whoa! Look, ma, no sidewalk! I'm walking on dirt!

Too bad it didn't rain. Then it would be like a mud slide.

I'm not clear what is happening specifically, but I did note that it appears that NStar installed an invisible fence to keep their worker people off of every body's front lawn.

Any NStar guy passes the flag and ZAP!

They sure meant it when they said "proceed with caution." Yikes! It is like an agility course.

I hope momma can navigate these cones without toppling.

Here I am channeling my inner R. No, not exactly the Rockies, more like the Granities, but one can dream.

I think I can see my estate from here!

I couldn't wait to tell the RH all about my big adventure, but he was spent from going to get his nails done and not the most attentive audience.

Mango! Wake up! I went in the danger zone and lived to tell about it. Aren't you impressed?

Wait until he wakes up. I bet he will ask to go on the adventure walk as well, but I know momma won't take him because he would be scared. He might be big, but he is not brave like me.

Dexter done!

You did great on your adventure walk Dexter. If Ambrose went there he would have barked at all the new things-sign, cones etc. He never likes it when new things are in familiar places.

Dexter, you totally looked like you were standing on a diving board in that picture of the sidewalk pieces piled on top of each other. Photoshop a pool in?

Very cool walkie, Dexter. Looks like you even got some practice in for the Olympics. Were you working on your balance beam dismount.

Dexter I think you should go on one of those REALITY Shows with THIS adventure. I was at the edge of my seat the entire time.

In the car racing that Mom and Dad do (when they do it, that is) if you knock over a cone it's a two second penalty. So make sure you penalize the DOH every time she knocks over one of those cones! Other than that, we are totally impressed with your big adventure. (Although does walking on dirt really count? I guess if you are a city boy, then walking on dirt DOES count! Heehee!) Way to keep the DOH on her toes!

That walk was more like an obstacle course than an agility course. Glad you made it through unscathed.

Dexter, that was quite some adventure, but fancy expecting RH to listen to you going on and on about it when he has had such an exhausting time getting his nails done...

That looks like a fun walkie, Dexter! All we ever get is the same old boring walkie day after day.

Love ya lots,

That is totally an adventure! I like to do the same walk all the time, it is the only way to keep up with the neighborhood gossip!
If I go someplace new then the stories are still there but lacking in any context.
Plus it there are words like Danger and Extreme then it is definitely an adventure!

Wow, you practically did a whole agility course there. Good for you and Mama.

BOL! I am thoroughly impressed by your adventurous spirit today, Dexter! I love channeling my inner R, too, when we go hiking. It feels so cool to strike a pose on a rock, doesn't it?

Dexter, I am in awe of you. You are so brave, not only for yourself, but you had to keep your Momma safe as well. I am glad you survived and lived to tell.

We think having an invisible fence to control the hu-apes is an excellent idea! It should ease our guarding duties when all those strange peeps walk by our estate and we have to be sure they know not to trespass. Good intel, Dex.

Dexter you did well on your agility walk. We are a little concerned about that invisible fence though. If the workmen hit it would they fall over, make a mess on the pavement and present more obstacles for you to negotiate?

A most excellent adventure walk, Dexter! So glad to see they're finally doing something about those pesky Nstar guys.

I would be remiss if I did not warn you about the hazards of an adventure walk -- but perhaps your human is safer because she is not clumsy like my human. Once you set out on more interesting terrain, the likelihood of your human falling increases. When humans fall, sometimes they break. Broken humans are often grumpy and less able to provide walkies and other fun activities. So be careful with your human on adventure walks!
