Day 28 - Running and Jumping by Dexter

IMPORTANT NEWS!
Honey is home from the hospital and feeling much better. You can read all about it here.
Thank you, friends, for all your good thoughts and wishes for one of our dearest pals.

Grab this picture and play along

It is certainly no secret that running and jumping (in fact any actual movement) is not the Relentlessly Torpid's forte. Nevertheless, I'm a good sport, so below is an "action" movie of a recent "agility" session.

As for yours truly, well, action videos abound of me demonstrating my athleticism. I selected this version as it is slowed down to give you a true idea of just how effortless jumping can be. Also, it features the host of Dog Days of Summer, none other than Norwood himself. Enjoy!

Dexter done!

Mango you must have heard the tale of the Daddy Bull and his son on the hill. They were overlooking the herd of cows below. The son said "Dad! Let's run down there and 'get' one!" His Dad's reply was "Son, if you walk down the hill, you will have enough energy to 'have' them all" ;P
Mango you are one very wise doggy :)

Dexter, you and Norwood are superb jumpin beans! Good show! :)

Waggin at ya,
Roo

Dexter, you're a true athlete! Mango, you certainly are impressive, too. Who knew such a big body could be so graceful?

Very impressive! Dexter's high jumps look pretty good.

For Mango, did I see some ballerina moves- graceful and gentle?

Mango! You need to tell your momma to do your video in slo-mo too... you were so quick over that obstacle we couldn't see your awesome moves!

Sam and Pippen

PeeS. We know that Dexter and that Nordude guy are just showing off so we won't say anything about how athletic they are!

We have jumps but we prefer to plough through them. Ho hum.

Lovely videos of you both.

Now which of those videos was the slow motion one?

Interesting how Dexter tucks his back legs up when he jumps, but personally I like Mango's technique. He makes sure he know where each leg is at all times.

Well done.

Impressive Dex and, ahem, Mango dear. It does take more to get your rear in motion, I can attest to that as I tend to run sideways "crab style" as Mom says. Darn back legs just don't go as fast.

Coco (and the ridiculously annoying athletic Kitty)

We think Mango's was in slow mo, too...BOL!

Great jumping Dex....as I'm, Daisy, not a jumper I'm sort of in Mango's league.

We are all agile in different ways. RH is just more deliberate in his agilities, whilst you can fly. Don't you look even better by comparison? Thanks for telling me about Honey; I've had a hard time seeing her blog many times, so I had no idea she'd taken ill.

Norwood and PeeWee are just showoffs! You are just as agile as they are, Mango!

Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly

Wow, Mastiff agility uses up hoooge amounts of energy...oh, btw, Mumsie was in JC Penny's at the mall (no NOT replacing her elastic waisted jamies) and found a designs by Mango section...weird huh...

So Pea, I gotta admit you jump like a serious frog...and speaking of which, did you HAVE to put Norweed on there? He and Loki are just totally blind to my charms...

Kisses,

Miss Lacie

Mango you are a superb tree jumper. Us big dogs must stick together. There is no point wasting all that energy jumping higher than necessary.

Emma

PeeS: Ok I must admit Pee Wee was pretty impressive too
