Dog Days of Summer AND an Important Postscript

Grab this picture and play along

Day 5 - In Water

Dexter here at the keyboard because "in water" is right up my alley.

Of course momma insists that the RH have a picture as well so I dug up this one of him "working out" on his pointless underwater treadmill.

That's PT lady in the tub with him (no way those are momma's leggies).

The number of photos of yours truly looking totally labradorable and athletic in the water are epic.

Choose one? Near impossible. But here goes...

Go ahead and SQUEEEEE! I know you want to.

Dexter done!

P.S. Momma is always grousing about all the laws in Massachusetts, but earlier this week she was pretty juiced up about a big dog friendly law that our governor signed. In addition to preventing de-barking, it established a Homeless Animal Prevention and Care Fund, clarifies that a doggie that is just defending itself cannot be deemed a dangerous dog, AND (wait for it) a doggie cannot be deemed dangerous based on breed or appearance! Woo hoo! You can read the entire text here.

Yes all right Dexter, you do look pretty special in that photo. There. I said it. Happy now?
Oh but I am horrified, just horrified to learn that 'de-barking' even exists. What a terrible idea. Well done to Massachusetts for banning it.
Toodle pip!

I'm gonna have a similar problem picking a water photo. I'm in the water every chance I get!

Great photo and way to go Massachusetts!

Your pal,

Mom has read about your new dog law and absolutely ADORES it. She is hoping other states will start taking note and follow.

That IS a great law!!! Good going, MA!

We aren't much for getting in the water but we always enjoy seeing our pals have fun in it.

Happy Sunday.

Yeah for Mass!! Let's hope this spreads around the world. No bad doggies, just bad owners.

How wonderful that the "powers that be" clarified that dogs cannot be judged/viewed as dangerous based on their appearance! I read about poor dogs who are judged and then punished because of it and I can't stand it! So glad to read this news!
Thank you for mentioning that your mom met a coon hound who looked like Daisy and for saying she fell in love with her! Maybe you'll soon have a coon hound of your own in your family?

Wow! Way to go, Master-Chew-Sits!! That's incredible! Dex, your water shot is WAY better than ours. Of course, we are only part water dogs, while you are The Real Deal! And tell your Mom not to worry, our Mom pretends to be a jock, and her legs don't look that good, either! ;-)

We just read about your new law, and are most excited to have a link to the full text. Mama is already planning to start cajoling our Maryland state legislators to follow suit. It will probably take a while; it took about 5 years to get Maryland to pass a pet trust law, but we got it at last. Three cheers for MA!

Great water photos. You failed to mention Mango's gorgeous gams in the PT tank, though. And we love Dex's soulful water face.

A big well done and yahoo for Massachewsits! Pawsome. I love seeing Mango at his therapy, I hope it helps the big guy. Dexter you are so sweet in that picture. Mommy goes crazy for your pool pictures(and any other pictures), she thinks she remembers one where you are on the side of the pool with your paws up and looking at your Momma. Is she crazy?
