Mango Walkie Celebrity Sighting

Hey, wanna see Tula's version of our big date? Click here. As you can see, I did sing her my Mango love song and show her my crayon but she was so aloof that who could blame me for trying out my charms on the burned yeast mountain gal?

We have robins living in a house they built on our new front porch.

I discovered this when I went out for my morning perambulations and was most heinously attacked! Those robins are fierce! I retreated to the safety of the indoors whilst momma climbed the ladder for a closer look.

They are still very little. I guess that is why the mom and dad robins are so protective.

Well, I thought the best course of action was to exit the safety of my house via the back and I soon found myself strolling most magnificently around the estate with my momma. See what a good doggie I am?

And then look who I saw! Why, it's Pete MacKenzie from WZLX doing some gardening right near the border of my estate. Yuh, he totally has his own radio show and is some sort of personality. Don't believe me? Check it out here.

But what was he doing putting down mulch and clipping hedges? I guess radio doesn't pay well.

Momma - He lives next door, you big doofus. Actually he is quite popular and plays some good music, but I only listen to his show when WBUR is having fund raisers (sorry, Pete).

Yuh, whatever.

Naturally I was keen to meet him and given my recently acquired social skills I was amenable to a nice ear massage.

And spinal adjustment...

Lucky for me, momma had the movie running in the flashy beast. You can watch my encounter with fame by clicking here.

Did you see stupid PeeWee trying to interfere with Mango time? As if! How quickly he forgot his morning swim during which I was abandonded (note to readers, I do not go to the cement pond lest I actually find myself in the water - I am not sure I know how to swim).

Look at the little mouse who was swimming with the doofus. That mouse did not swim well, especially after it had seen the inside of PeeWee's mouth a few times.

Momma - The mouse had already crossed over the rainbow bridge when we arrived at the pool. Dexter did mouth it a few times, but much preferred his tennis ball and I was able to extract the poor thing from the pool.

The point is, that even after getting special fun shift, the little (now wet) black beast was determined to participate in Mango time. Look at his little snooter all pointing out from under the fence.

I was happy when momma told him to get back. Even she is not duped by his attempts at cuteness.

Mango Man! Oh yeah!

You're a dandy mastiff luv machine, Mango... pawsome date you had with Tula. For a small bird, robins can be protectively fierce, huh... Did you get an invitation to go on air with Pete... Monday Morning with Mango sounds good to me :)

Lots going on over at your estate, Mango! That Pete neighbour guy sounds really cool, though. Maybe you should visit him more often?

The Thundering Herd said...

Maybe Pete is talking on his radio show about HIS celebrity sighting of the Mango. Ever think of it that way?

P.S. - Dexter - Glad there are no Sibes in the yard. That would constitute total escape spacing.

Mango, Mango, Mango. Tula is obviously a good sport and it would be a relentlessly huge mistake to let her go for the first floofie tail that swishes by. Think it over. Now that you're hanging in celebrity circles maybe you could go on your new friend's radio show and sing your Mango love song live on the radio. If you do, my advice would be to dedicate it to Tula, but of course that's your call.

Oh My...we think that sounds like a wonderful bit of Mango time...we hope the robins grow up to be big birds and very tolerant of the Mango.

Martha said...

Oh Dexter, we wanted to see you on the video! Oh well, never mind we did see you in the pool....swimming...with your friend!
We don't swim ourselves but we are sure a dead mouse makes it more interesting.
Nice to meet your celebrity neighbour Mango - we thought you were the celebrity in that neighbourhood.
We will check our the date! Even though we are jealous.
Thank you for the tip to dig up the patio - I may need help.....

Mango, we think it is great that you got to go for that pawesome walk, but we think you have the celebrity part backwards. YOU are the celebrity and we hope you left Pete your autograph with the suds:) That was very nice of Mr. Pete to give you a nice massage.

We totally agree -- the first thing Pete should do on Monday morning is start his radio show with "Folks, do you know whom I met on Sunday? None other than the one, the only Relentlessly Hooge Mango Man -- who just happens to be my neighbor. Lucky me. I asked him if he would do me the honor of singing his Mango Love Song on the air -- and he said he would, after he checked his calendar. So stay tuned, folks. This could be the scoop I've been waiting for!!"

Wirey love,

Jske and Just Harry

Mango, I'm impressed! You know celebrities and there's some guy with a giant head bigger than yours! I can't believe you couldn't share with Pee Wee, though!

Dexter, have you thought about digging under that fence just a tiny bit? I'll bet there's great adventure waiting for you on the other side! It has to be better than swimming with dead mice!

Quite honestlys, I think he must be famous cuz he met YOU! He's prolly all...I'm never gonna wash these hands again. But be careful. Peoples like that can become stalkers.

Brudder Ranger is Most Envious of the mouse in the pool. Although I don't know why. He's a rat terrier...not a mouse terrier!

We loved seeing those little baby robins - Murray adored them - we had hoped some birds might nest in our birdbox this year but we think Tinkerbell kept them away!

The mouse in the pool got a good reaction here too!

Glad you got plenty of attention from your local celeb!

take care

You are wise to avoid the cement pond. Drinking from the hose is good. More water than that is just not necessary.

So when did you say you will guest on Pete's radio show?

Life With Dogs said...

Might I admit to being moderately duped my his cuteness? It compliments your snarky self perfectly. :)

I understand ear massage and enjoy it!
But spinal adjustment? Is he a good chiropractor??
Remember you want to look 110% handsome and functional in front of Tula!

Hey ya Mango! Lots going on over there...must say...minus the mousey, I'm probably on the Dexter swim and snooter-fencing program... :) Hmmmm, but you did meet the celeb!!! :)

LOVED the video, Mango (and the bit where Dexter's nose popped out had Hsin-Yi giggling!) - I have to say, you looked like such a relaxed sociable guy, I can't believe the amazing progress you have made with training (well, if all those stories about the "old you" are true - which I'm beginning to seriously doubt!)

The front of your house/street is gorgeous - almost like a park right on your doorstep! And you look like you're SO enjoying being out and about in the sunshine and seeing the sights & smells...Way to go! ;-)

we were taken in by Dexters cutness! hehehe! love the robins and you are right Mango...that new truck was definately a gift from Groucho's alien friends--it is too conspicuous to drive around in a flying saucer. good observation.

Tucker said...

OMG - There is a mouse in the pool - Dexter get out! - don't you see it's in front of you. I guess it could be a leaf, but it looks like a mouse.

The robins are adorable, like all babies.
I should have known you get your back adjusted, RH. Even I get daily massages to align my spine.
Tula's version of the date was rather consistent with yours, but I enjoyed the extra photos. Double the pleasure.

Hello Mango and Dexter!

I am Mr Darcy's (bless his little cotton socks) family;s new doggie and I have just made my blogging debut!

Mango I'm glad you're getting out and about and being incredibly good for your Momma!

My Mumma thinks I could be a mango Dexter hybrid by the way! I guess you never know what she may get up to when she goes to work...

your pal,

Attackers from above are hard to deal with effectively. I think you are smart to start using the back door for awhile.

Hey, do you think that Radio Dude heard your Mango Love Song? Maybe he was out scouting to see if he could make friends and get you to be on his show! Our Papa is friends with a local Radio guy, too. His name is Dan and he is on KAXL, our local Christian Radio Station. We just made him a T-Shirt called "Dan's Fans in Corgi Country," and it is in our Country Corgi Store under group pics though it doesn't have his picture on it. Grammy has also done his portrait.

Those MICE... they are EVERYWHERE! That is why we have mouse ladders in our water bowl.

Oskar said...

Phew, I was worried that the little thing floating in the pool was a labraturd. Very poor manners.

I guess mices can't swim, huh?

Joe Stains said...

Perhaps your neighbor will let you come on his radio show and sing some of your romantic ballads. I would certainly love to hear that blasted over the airwaves. Poor mousey dude!
