My Beautiful Raja - from the archives

Sometimes I get to missing my Beautiful Raja so much. She was so big and strong and made me feel safe. I was so lost when she crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.

Raja taught me how to enjoy my meditations.

I always wanted to be as close to her as possible.

She called me a big clumsy doofus head puppy. But I didn't mind.

Wow! I used to be really limber!

I was not even two years old when she left me. I will always remember her.

Look at this old movie I found of us together when I was a gawky teenager. I wish she had been around long enough to see what a handsome and talented guy I became. You can watch the movie here if you want. It is kind of long and not so good as my more recent movies, but you get to see me at daycare (before I got kicked out), and playing in the yard, and just snuggling. All with Raja. One of a kind, she was, for sure.

Mango Man! Oh yeah!

Oh Mango, you were so cute and its wonderful to see you when you were a doofus head. Your sissy Raja was certainly a beautiful dog. Mango Momma, its bittersweet just looking at these videos. Sometimes you can watch them, and sometimes you know you just can't. Thanks for sharing. No worries, and love, Carol and Stella

"I wish that Rainbow Bridge had a phone so I could hear your bark again. I thought of you today, but that's nothing new. I thought of you yesterday & the day before that too. I think of you in silence & often speak your name. All I have are memories & pictures in a frame"

Quote from my FB friend Joana today... thought I share with you.

There's a country song out now that makes me cry... "If Heaven Wasn't so Far Away." I should remember the artist; he's obviously a good guy, because one of the things he wants to do is hang out with his old dog again.

Don't we all?!

Justin Moore "If Heaven wasn't so far away"

If heaven wasn't so far away
I'd pack up the kids and go for the day... And I'd find my bird dog Bo and take him huntin' one
more time
...Sit on a cloud and visit for a while
It'd do me good just to see them smile
If heaven wasn't so far away
I'd pack up the kids and go for the day
Introduce them to their grandpa
Watch 'em laugh at the way he talks
...Yeah, and losing them wouldn't be so hard to take
If heaven wasn't so far
If heaven wasn't so far away
So far away

Aw Mango. We loved seeing these old photos and videos of you and Beautiful Raja. She was big and beautiful and made you feel safe. (You were quite the bouncy little guy, yourself!) And you only had her for such a short time. At least we had Allie until we were 4 and after she went to the bridge we had each other!

While we all move on after a loss, some days are just sadder than others. Thanks for sharing these memories with us.

-Gizmo and Bart and Ruby, too who just feels sooo happy to be living in our house!

Raja was very beautiful and we know how special she was to you and to Momma. Maybe Momma needs to get you a little Raja so you can snuggle again.

Awww baby Mango. I bet Raja kept you in tip top shape with all your running about!
There's a big boy mastiff that lives in our neighborhood, Zeus. He's 7 and is HUGE! He always wants to play with Darwin, but will jump up and paw her and because he's so big he whacks her pretty good and she doesnt want to play with him. He's so cute though and he has the softest ears!

Raja sure was a beauty!! I don't know what Riley's gonna do when old Chloe passes on, they are good pals like you and Raja were.

Wow, you were so...lanky!! And that Boxer dude (or dudette...couldn't tell because it was wearing a jacket or something) looked like an ant compared to you Mastiffs! Cool video. No worries, Riley would surely get kicked out of day care if I took her...she's a butt head!

Wow. You really were a little doofus head! Heehee. It's hard to think of the Mango as a little limber thing! We couldn't watch the video (but we'll be back to see it), but I love her faces at you - she's all like "Sigh. What I have to put up with with this goofy lunker!" Heehee. Actually, I like looking at pictures of me as a youngster with TaiChi. We had lots of good sleepy times together before she crossed The Bridge, and I love looking at pictures of me all snuggled up next to her! Happy memories!

Momma abandoned us this week! On the way back, she sat next to a mastiff loving band playing doofus who has loved about 8 of us! He said he usually has 2 mastiffs at a time so they can keep each other company when he's at work. Evidently they showed each other mastiff pictures. Momma's a doofus, too.

Oh my...forgot you'd been a show dog, Mango...if you have any extra ribbons, could ya send 'em to me...I need new ones to pin up my naturally curly furs...

Speaking of pinning up...what happened to your ears from whence you were a puppy? They looked soooooooooooo long...and now they are you have them pinned into sorta a Mastiff CHI YON...dunno how to spell that....

So were you bigger than Raga when you were done growing???
